Update on My EX5. New parts went on the bike. Both are wear and tear parts. The first one is a new set of rims ( never know that rims can be a wear and tear part). I did not change it for looks but the rear bearing housing is worn out and causing the wheel to wobble which is not good especially when taking corners on uneven road. Yes temporary fix can be done by using a sheet of aluminum from any drink can but I have been on that temporary fix for more than a year and the housing is now worn out beyond that. Short conversation with my regular mech reveal that even branded sport rim suffer form similar problem after certain period of time. Considering my previous set or normal brand rim last me more than 5 or 6 years, I decided to opt for middle range product. Initially when changing the rims I decided to keep the Maxxis Diamond on the rear as it still got some life left. However, the tire decided to pick up a small sharp piece of metal on the 2nd day I use the new rims so might as well change to new tire. Was considering the Pirelli Diablo Rosso to match the front but change my mind and go for Corsa Sport Rain. Why Corsa Sport Rain? Its because I am a daily rider to work regardless of weather. I have experienced the Sport Rain on my brother's bike and I must say its gripping better than Maxxis Diamond in both wet and dry. Diablo Rosso provide excellent grip in dry but never felt comfortable or confidence in the rain. I will still keep the Diablo Rosso on the front as its still acceptable for me with not much load at the front fork unlike the rear tire. How good is the Diablo Rosso? If u are using it on a kapchai, the tire will laugh at you when you are leaning down at corner and said to you "itu je ke boss?" What the Diablo Ross and Sport Rain had in common is that both tire had the capability to throw pebbles in the face of the rider behind you. Will upload picture soon as the forum seems to be having issue with uploading pictures.
