Hi all
I would like to do custom bodykit for my SV4.
which shop do u guys recommend? and should i use fiber or PU?
which one is better?
thanks

Both suck? What kind of answer is that?

Could you give at least some explanation as to why you say that?

I mean.. I could say your car sucks, but it would be a moot point if I simply said it without actually seeing your car. Seeing you're a veteran here with almost 2K of posts, I'd think that you had something more to say about why custom kits whether PU or fibre are bad?

Bad workmanship? Bad quality? What?

Or are you a JDM purist, and believe anything non JDM is blasphemy?

You're right.. what choices are there to consider?

For my 92-95 civic,
Veilside still makes EG bodykits but come at a big big pricetag...
C-West no longer makes them, might be able to find a second hand one though.
Buddy club still makes them.
Bomex too.

But all the above come with a premium price tag.. if you think those new stream modulo bodykits are expensive.. you haven't seen the price tag on those suckers above!

Seriously, I'd like to know why custom bodykits are considered bad...
Is it because the local ones have very bad workmanship?

I've seen some horrible ones.. but I'm wondering if there is some shop in malaysia that does it better?

I consider my car to be full JDM, EH2-EG9 ->in progress

But if everyone did JDM... it would be boring, and everyone would start installing garish bodykits again.

Like if everyone did MDM(Malaysian Domestic Market) to their protons (Which means leaving it stock), would it be popular?

Even the Japanese have gone 'spo-com', with crazy bodykits, and gullwing, suicide, vertical doors, crazy neon, crazy colours.

The only reason JDM is popular now is because not many people do it.

"The only reason JDM is popular now is because not many people do it."
yup,that is absolutely reason......huhuhuhu

Haha.. but you know.. the number of 'real' JDM EK99' parts doesn't agree with the actual number of EKs with 99 bodyparts here, but you seem to see a lot of people with EK99 parts.

I wonder where those come from?..

Hehe... hint! hint!

PU is durable since it's flexible but it can't go well with paint job coz the nature material of it. Fiber is rigid and goes well with paint but it's too fragile. I don't see anything good about them unless you don't demand the quality of the finised products. Look at the cars running on the road with the cheesy customed bodykits leaving unpainted and fixing with the stupid rivets things exposed? Hell no.... :X-:

Custom bodykits is a big NO for me, especially the poor craftmanship done by the local workshop here. I'd say forget about it and I won't have done that if I were you, but once again it's just me.

That's what I'm talking about, a good craftmanship products comes with a premium price tag coz you pay for what you have.

Thanks for your opinion, Hikaru.

As expected, every Honda enthusiast I meet complains about the lack of quality in custom made bodykits due to workmanship issues.

Well.. I guess one can hope that workmanship issues might be solved one day... Hopefully before my EG turns 20! ROFL! :X-:

Although being fully JDM is a bit of a lie though, since I'm using some non JDM parts on the engine. :emoticon_U:
