maybe will scout for u an A33 VQ30DE...should be cheaper...

however, its not recommended by installaing the engine n g/box without the wiring n ecu...all vq series engines have diff wiring system n ecu...so ur 2.0 system will not be compatible with 3.0...it will starts but in long run, u will develop probs...

David,....I am a bit itchy to up-grade to 3.0 or 3.5L if not too expensive...must check the price first...you know I lost a fortune last 2 months...:cry_smile:

Initially I was thinking to try get the whole half cut so I can also change the meters (nicer),steering (half wooden? +cruise control),anti-glare rear mirror,etc...but I doubt I can get it below 10k....

Let's see what your fren can find for me and the price then only decide...

O-BIT Piggy Back ECU.

The O-BIT is a Subcon (Piggyback) which is very near to a Stand-alone system.


O-BIT outperforms current Piggyback systems with additional new functions such as fuel control using O2 signal, automatic tuning mode, shift lamp control, fan switch control, Nos control, water injector control, data logging for 48houre, Drive history for 48days. Additional injector control, a boost control, speed limit control etc.


The application is versatile regardless of type of engine and year model of cars. Especially automatic fuel adjusting by O2 sensor signal is very unique and unavailable to other piggyback system other than standalone ECUs (the price of a unit is very high although there is this function).


O-BIT is piggyback system has same function as a stand-alone ECU. This function (self-controlled fuel adjust) play very important roll for using piggyback with original ECU. Cars in recent years are always supervising the signal of O2 sensor, and this O2 signal is the signal adjusting fuel and ignition time. It is impossible to effectively tune an engine with an ECU without this auto-tune function that O-Bit uses.

If you are talking about VQ20DE vs RB20DE, I can only say VQ20DE runs smoother comparing RB20DE. In terms of power....I have not check spec to spec which has more BHP and Torque.

V6 will rev smoother and I6 can rev hard!!

In general, VQ is a V6 and RB is inline 6....
Both engines are choice powerplant for Sport Sedan or larger build saloon.

As for the TEIN, you sure you want to go for this product? i can tell, most of the member in our group think that my ride is on the hard side....no more comfy loh!

The Subang 2 shop is like SMI type. Very confusing place..
You can go in via subang Terminal 3 or can go via bukit jelutong shah alam.

As for O-BIT, i get to know from my friend that it is actually from PerfectPower http://www.perfectpower.com/ but brand under another name. It's from South Africa.

I believe it's about the same as UniChip. Piggy back still Piggy back, you can only play with a few things...Fuel MAP, AFM MAP, Lamba or O2 feed back processing.

I suggest that you look for someone that can give you a one stop shop solution.

gary...dreamo's tein its a bit hard for normal usage unless u travel a lot on high speed like dream , then its not recommended...with the road condition in JB, u will curse n swear...

if u r looking for straight foward power upgrade, why dont u just change to VQ25DE!! in terms of engine power n top speed, it will beat ur stock VQ20DE for sure...its relatively cheaper in terms of power gain...think about it...
