Im interested in obtaining more information on the above mentioned engine (4G63). I have been looking around but yet to come across any.

I have seen some very good books on 4G63 but were mostly Japanese. (@Kinokuniya) I do read and write Japanese but at a very low level. I still prefer reading them in English.

Do recomend some good books on 4G63 if you guys come across any or have read any.

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems

The above book is highly recomended by an Australian friend. I have yet to read it tho. Still looking for it. I hope that MPH stocks them.

u can get the "book" from the net on pdf format (just print it out & compile into a book!).
... i forgot the website details already, but what i printed out came to some 1cm thick A4 paper, back n front.

Oopz... okie, hope u can get back to me, the lancerregister's forum is too big and i don't know how to navigate inside

A story I would like to share.

When I was living in Melbourne, my best friend also a housemate is a big fan of Beemer.
He has three Beemers to his name. Two were ol'skool models from the late 70's - (The 2002 model, very powerful coupe) and the other is a daily driven 80's 3 series.

This Kid - he reads alot. Has a library of books on Beemers, Engines, Automobiles. he has no background as a mechanic or whatsoever, He was my classmate in University doing our Bachelor of Arts in Advertising.

Now this kid could do wonders, by just reading and understanding, He could take the engine apart and put them back together again and work. This Kid has limited tools and I once helped him to remove a camshaft by using a broom stick. What we did was use the shaft of the broom stick to hammer the camshaft out. We succeeded after few attemps and a damanged broom stick and also some missing springs.

He knows what parts to buy for replacement by reading and getting the product codes and obataining it personally to avoid getting ripped off by third party.

So I guess by reading and understanding we learn. Alot.

I dont intent to emulate my friend nor intent to take my engine apart but would like to have a better undertsanding of it (my engine). I have encountered people telling "all-sorts of things" like how things work or why they failed to work...etc..But my questions is how concrete are their knowledge, where did they obtain such an info. By reading, experience or making them up.

I think the reason why Newstands/Bookshops here dont carry much books on Engines/automobiles is bacause of lack of demand.

So guys, share with us good books you guys have read. On engine and its related components. Not playboys.....

hi moppy, supremus,
actually i also have 4G61,64,64 printed out, but i don't have the website source anymore - :(
same for Lancer Evo VI Technical Info Manual by Ralliart - no source.
:P

okay, got it!
check this out:
http://www.ecanfix.com/users/manualcd/gift/dsm/

that's the index for the rest of the pdf files, incl 4G6x, meaintenance, etc.

Vivid, not sure if 4G62 is in the index list cos this is US source. Eclipse 1G (1st gen) is similar to VR4, evo 1,2,3. 2G is 2nd gen but i think different from later evos.)

whitenite, all right thanks :) for the info shall search to see in the link
