Contemplating on getting one. How good is is particular model? performance? handling? comfort? maintenance? parts? problem areas?
many say the 318 is underpowered and 320 is merely fair.... and the 328 is not that much difference from the 325... so they say, the 325 is a good choice...
Can anybody who owns one share their experience with this car??
And from my observation the price is around RM60-70K depending on year and condition... am i right on this??

Cheers and thank you.. :cool:

let me tell u why ppl say there's not much difference btw 325i n 328i.

325i = M50B25 192BHP
328i = M52B28 193BHP

a mere 1hp difference :)

but da difference is in da torque!
325i = 245Nm
328i = 280Nm

da easily available torque for da 328i makes overtaking n city driving zippy n civilized

if u can afford da roadtax, get da 328i if not da 325i is quite hard to get but its da better balance btw da underpowered 318i n 328i.

The 325i is using the cast iron block. The 328i is using the aluminium block. In one case I know of the aluminium block has cracked. A lot of other 328i owners I know have not experienced any such occurrance though.

OIC...sorry, I'm not too familiar with BMW , but i have heard my fair share of horror stories from bmw users.

Has this got something to do with the new EU requirements to have the car be "recyclable"?

iron block u can upgrade to 3.0 till 3.2 piston kit ...
328 noway ....

hehhehhee ....

Yeah, I've heard that apparently, if you are looking towards modding the straight 6, best go for one with an iron block. The aluminium ones are fragile I think.

so.. conclusion... 325i is the best bet????? true???

325i is excellent enough for day to day driving and also the occasional spirited driving. best choice between 318i and 328i if roadtax is an issue.

try and get the 325i wif the manual gearbox. sporty performance when u need it ;)
