Hi guys,

What would be the max boost for a daily driven airtrek turbo? Gearbox is standard no line pressure upgrade done yet.

TD05 from Evo 8 MR 10.5
Stock cams and stock intake
565cc sti wrx injectors
stock actuator
stock exhaust except for tip - rice cannon
Walbro fuel pump
Getting fully AFR tuned with Knock checked
FMIC
BOV

Thinking 20-21psi and drop to 18psi to redline.

I have heard people running 22-24 psi on our engines no trouble

My gearbox is stock. My minor upgrades are:

1) TD05 from Evo 7
2) FMIC
3) Evo 6 cams & valve springs
4) Full exhaust (N1 straight flow) & decat
5) Works Fuel Regulator @ 3 bar
6) Remapping done previously with TD04 with only exhaust and raised boost (1.3 bar) & fixing the BOV vent out engine stalling issue.

Still in stock
a) Fuel pump
b) 450cc Injector
c) Needs remapping/dyno tuning for new setups - TD05 & FMIC

As I have not done a, b & c yet, I am just running at a conservative 1 bar (14.5 psi) now. No problem or what so ever. Car running smooth and strong.

Will be doing them soon in 2 months's time, then I am looking forward for 1.4 bar (20psi). Ah Wah said it should NOT have a problem at all. With 1.4 bar & the setup, Airtrek should be producing around 240whp. Hope this helps.

There are already quite a lot of members here that are running TD05 upgrades which are running with stock gearbox and getting 210whp - 240whp. The difference of 30whp is due to health of the engine + gearbox condition.

cool tks. Yes unfortunately our Dyno's here read much lower than USA/other countries also. Although my stock airtrek with POD filter and 18psi drop to 15psi, bad tune did 130wkw on dyno, not bad for stock i suppose. 117km engine

As far as I know, eventho Airtrek Turbo is rated at 240hp in the crank, a typically used fully stock condition car will get around 160-170whp (120-126wkw). So if you're getting 130wkw in stock, that's pretty good actually.

Plus i have a very good tuner in mind to help sneak some more power out, plus 264 cams and evo intake i should get closer to 190-200wkw which is peaking the gearbox limit for power without too much risk.....I would love to find a magnesium evo 8 red cover for my engine to look nicer too LOL

When I painted my rocker cover, I actually wanted to get the Evo 7 with the word EVOLUTION on it. But since it's magnesium, Ah Wah said many of the Evo 7-9 users are looking for older covers because Mg actually peels off after time. It's not the paint that is coming off, it's the layer of Mg itself that peels off. So if one painted it new, it will only last for the most of 2 years. So when I painted mine, I chose to retain the old cover (eventho there's a Evo 7 one available for me) which cosmetically will last indefitnately. Just sharing what I know... :)

i might just do that then! :) Also do you know the best AFR for our 4g63? I am thinking at WOT - 11.6-11.8 - 1. 12:1 max, and 11.0:1 richest.

I don't know about the best setting for AFR. Probably your tuner or some members here will know more. I have no knowledge on tuning at all.. :)

stock is around 14 tat is very rich.12 should be alright but depends on ur mod too
