Hi Sifus

What are the modifications needed in order to achieve at least 140whp ?

Current Mods:
Mivec TB
Lightened/Adjustable Cam Pulleys
Lightened Crank Pulleys
Fuel Regulators
4-2-1 Extractor
SAFC

Please advise what should the next step be?

Looking at 2 options:

Option 1 :
Install 272 performance camshafts

Option 2 :
Install oversized pistons by 1mm with high compression
Install metal head gasket to further increase the compression ratio

Please advise sifusssss

Thanks :hmmmm:

Hello again,

In addition to the previous message, any reliable workshop around PJ for modifications/normal service?
Based on your experience and expertise, which engine oil is the suitable one for this rough and old engine?

Thanks

standard injectors are good enough up to 175-180 whp...

emanage, can tune ignition... n/a need ignition the most for hp
evo ecu
chip hi rev 9000rpm
tb super90 (suck more air)
evo airflow (easy to suck air)
intake type r or skunk2 (this thing make ur trotle respon faster)
gear ratio (final drive only)
4,1 Extractor (ur power come in at hi rpm)
272 hicam (duratech easy for driving)
cam pully (to set the hicam)
crak pully (make it lighter)
skim flywheel to 5.5kg (if u dont have bujet for osgiken racing clutch)
racing clutch
81mm hicom piston (mivec ori with valve pocket job done) (82mm expensive to bore)
0.8mm metal gasket (to make compression ratio hi)
arp screw head (when u play with rev, u know y u need this)
since u need to install ur metal head gasket, do port and polish
if u got more money buy new hydrolic lifter 9 this things make ur lifter quiet
plug iridium + cable plug + evo coil
intake pipe the best is aloi
and +- so much more la...
u need hp? hp need money... :banghead:

just my 2sen opinion and experience

peace :wavey:

Super Velocity, are you referring to Standlone ecu ?

I'm afraid that's over the budget. hehehe :)
Nope you dont need standalone but if you have the budget then ofcoz go for it. Meanwhile if you dont have the best solution is to go for piggyback management like the Greddy Emanage Blue.

Khairul : Thanks for the heads up. If i had the budget, i would love to do all those ;)

SuperVelocity : Yeah bro. Thanks :)

Think i'll go for 81mm hicom Mivec pistons plug & play with 0.8mm metal head gasket.

More or less same as mine..hehe
Thinking to put mivec piston also but better do crakshaft balancing, put ACL bearing, porting head, use metal gasket, ARP stud at once..but that gonna cost a lot..so now searching what is the cheapest way to pull highest power..hehe

if u want better power, u should do the cam 1st...go for dura tech 272 cam...there is many power hidden in the cylinder head...since u have mivec tb and sports extractor, play with bigger cam...upgrade to bigger injectors and ecu rechipped...dont need to rebore or fit in bigger/higher compression pistions, as the power increase is not really impressive...with a good tuning, u can get nearly 20hp for these kind of mod (272 cam with valve spring, e-manage, ecu rechipped)...my 4g91 standard dyno only puts out 88hp, i plonked dura tech cam, bigger injector and rev cut and i managed to get 115whp dynoed...and thats only for a 1.5 engine, imagine if 4g93, i think no prob going for nearly 140whp...

syimirmazlan, thank for your input bro.

by the way, how much did u pay for the duratech 272 cam with valve spring and other labours altogether?
Thanks! :)

By the way, any recommendations for good and trusted workshop around PJ?

What is the most suitable engine oil for 4G93?

serch for hks spf filter 200mm x 100mm
mivec throttle body and gsr turbo intake manifold
then go for a power run on dyno machine check the hp & afr first...

dura tech cam market price is rm2400...i got it for rm2100 from a guy in klang, speed art including valve spring...installation rm200, without setting adj campulley, rm1k++ for tuning e manage, since u have safc thats good enough...

for workshop around PJ, i dunno la brader, i done my car at shah alam...

I see.

Thanks for the info bro.

By the way, looking for Skunk2 Air Intake Manifold that is made for 4G93.
Apparently it makes your throttle much lighter and it's plug & play!

I have looked through mudah.my and only to found those with 70mm intake bore.
I'm using mivec TB, which is only 60mm. How does the Skunk2 Air Intake Manifold bore fits my 60mm mivec tb?

to achieve 140whp, u dont really need a mivec piston (from my opinion). stock piston with thinner metal gasket already offer u slightly more compression ratio. then pnp, mivec tb, less restrict intake system, better extractor and hi-cam will definitely increase (with proper tune) your engine's volumetric efficiency. slightly higher CR + better VE = higher Dynamic compression pressure. There's a lot tuner out there who can increase your hp, but not all pro enough to increase it efficiently.

Just bought a skunk2 intake manifold and fixed on my 4G93.
Also fixed ficd for the air-cond idle timing.

However, when the air-cond is on, my idle timing sounds as if i have high cams on.
Where as if i off the air-cond, my idle becomes normal.
And, with or without air-cond on, when i start driving, it turns back to normal.

Is this normal or what?
My mechanic is asking to come back for another visit to check on the air/fuel flow and is concerned that my fuel might not be sufficient on the high rpm section.

Anyone has installed a skunk2 intake manifold on a 4G93?
The rpm is much lighter and responsive now though but i'm shifing at 5k rpm now, to be safe before future investigate. Hehehe

wait, did u get the skunk2 intake which is made for 4g93?from what i know there is no skunk2 for 4g93, there are only for b16, b18 but u can mod the intake flange to fit the 4g9x engine.

and yes, if u use mivec tb the size is 60mm, while the intake is 70mm, its ok, but u wont unleash the full potential of the skunk2 intake. but i think it is sufficient for ur current engine setup.

Actually there is a replica skunk2 made for 4G93, almost plug & play but there's a few misplacement for the screws on the fuel rail which can also be customized. My mechanic did a great job for the little misplacement and it was good to go.

However, when I'm idling with air-cond, my air/fuel ratio is 19.9 =.="
But when I'm throttling, it goes to 13, which is alright. Idling is a bit off, that's all.

Croydon, shit man that's 1 little monster there. On top of that, Millennium Motorsports' dyno is pretty heavy right! Yet you could pull out that HP! Awesome shit :wavey:
How much is the mivec head by the way? hehehe

cheers!

[HELP]Exhaust Manifold (extractor) Gasket Problem!

hi guys, been having this problem recently. Weird rubbing/squelling-a-like noise from the engine bay (sounds like "jit jit jit jit" or "chit chit chit chit").
ONLY appear when engine is warmed up! sound is suspected to be coming from belt & pulley area.

✔ Already checked and changed all 3 v-belts (alternator, power steering & crank pulley belt).
✔ Checked all pulleys, no wobbling or loose pulley. No apparent misalignment...
