Found this pic in celica hyper rev.....quite useful.......they run a caldina ST215 3sgte intake manifold on ST205 3SGTE which is the same eng as MR2 245hp........the reason they used this is even air going in to each cyclinder....normally we experience piston blow from cyclinder 2 & 3

so i took the risk of buying the intake manifold to measure if it fit onto MR2/Celica 3SGTE eng without knowing if the intake will fit or not......brought back to my place today and took out original mr2/celica intake manifold gasket to measure

http://img32.imagefra.me/img/img32/2/8/18/toms/f_1nbdqh02lb3m_2b5f090.jpg

exact same fitting hole........so they money didn't go to waste.....hahaha.....next gonna measure the throttle body size......maybe need to mod a plate to mount the celica throttle.....

will update u guys....

This JUN replica intake if made to spec should flow more air not replacing TVIS. You can gut the TVIS. I did mine and it just act as an adapter plate now without throttle plates which aids better air flow. If you take a careful look at the manifold, TVIS assembly and the head all are misaligned by a couple of mm. You can mark them and grind them to align up the holes, that would give much better flow as steps causes air turbulence and that disrupt the air flow. You want a smooth flow of air into the combustion chamber.

Smooth & unrestricted flow I agree, just wondering what would the ECU think? I've been considering removing those butterflies, but did you note any difference at low idle or low rpm?

Why don't you pull off the vacuum hose at the TVIS actuator and vacuum plug the hose. Drive around to see if you like it or not before you gut the TVIS. I believe your having the 225 engine?

fitted the manifold to mr2 245 engine and it seem to be able to pass the distributor n sit higher than the original manifold

I have been charged RM60 for checking and fixing wiring for my Proton Iswara of Power Window Switch. It is reasonable? Can anyone tell me?
