2 Way comp. VS 3 Way comp

Was surfing DLS web. They have 2 type of comp.

1. 2-way system
2. 3-way system

which is better and the best for the ICE beginer.

If u compare the same model and series, 3 way definietly will sound better

thsi setup will be hard, u haev to get ur placing right & make sure
u have the right speakers for ur self...
not to forget 3 way give u all the frequency from every parts of music & u cna here the seperation very well & nicely assemble........
btu to get in to this level, u must be know ur setup so well that even anyone simply ask u how it sound ..u must know how to explain it

2 way....
way 2 simple & very not much seperation & dynamic....some speaker
have them.....u also can get good sounding with 2 way....an easy setup no hassel & havoc...just get the placing right
tune a bit & u got a nice setup for ur ears......

ADVICE: If U cant go there, dont force it ... just K.I.S.S.

It all depends on the comps itself, space for the installation and most important of all, the tuning.
With the 3 way, there's the extra midrange which acts as a "bridge" to fill the gap between the upper mids for the midwoofers and the lower high frequencies from the tweeters.

i have one questions, what consists in a 3-way system? tweeters, midbass, and? woofer...?

If you're using the passives, 2 or 3 way shouldn't matter other than driver placement.
It only starts to gets difficult when you decide to go active.

normaly 3 way consist of tweets, 4" mid driver and 6.5" midwoofer

what if i say, I dont have that much money to spend on and then spend for upgrade later in the future. How right if i choose to go straight to 3 way and start off there? save for the future upgrades? since you all say start with 2-way, then only then slowly to 3-way, can beginners even start with a 3-way system?

Can.. no one will stop if you go for a 3-way system.

Just that as 3-ways are more difficult to tune and get right, you may lose interest and get fed up quickly. Also there are more things to conside when doigna 3-way such as mounitng and speaker placement is more critical, things which you wont fully understand yet.

However, you can buy a 3-way system and use it as a 2-way first. Once you understand what you want to achieve and some basics on tuning, you can easily install the 4" midrange.

yup. fully agreed with Bert. With 3-way straight, u may not able to understand the foundamental and the concept right. u will need to start frm low. knowing basic tuning, freq, xover and speaker positioning.

4" is pretty small. Where do we mount them though? under the dashboard?

4" is merely to drive the high mid range freq only. Or should i say Vocal? hence u do not need to have big like midbass. normally plp mount it nearest to tweets.
