Top Gear’s Stig Taming a 210KMH Honda Lawnmower!

We have seen The Stig taming all sorts of wild beasts, ranging from the wild Gumpert Apollo to the flame-spitting Zonda R; and he (or it?) managed to lap the Dunsfold test track with a great lap time and precision. But what if he is put into something that still has four wheels but less conventional, like a lawnmower?

Obviously the Stig will probably walk away if he is presented with one, but this is no ordinary lawnmower that we are talking about. While from the outside, this looks just like a typical Honda HF2620 Lawn Tractor, but they had actually collaborated with their title winning BTCC partner Team Dynamics in creating what they call as the Mean Mower.

Team Dynamics fabricated an all-new chassis for this bad boy out from 4130 chromoly, which is necessary in handling the 109-horsepower from the 1.0-liter motorcycle engine lifted from a Honda VTR Firestorm. Coupling the engine with a paddle-shifted six-speed transmission, the Mean Mower is also fitted with a bespoke suspension and wheels from an ATV. The grass bag on the other hand is now home to the fuel tank, a high capacity oil cooler and a secondary water cooling radiator.

With such a package, the Mean Mower could easily outrun a Porsche 991 Carrera in a 0-100 km/h race as it could make that century sprint in four seconds flat. They had even pushed the machine to its limits and got an impressive top speed of 209 km/h; which also comes with a very loud scream of 130dB coming out from the Scorpion exhaust system.
