to car ownerss equipped with eps (electronic power steering)

eg civic es, jazz, ep3

wanna know, if the steering feel is numb as mentioned in several car reviews, and does it have some lag where when you already straightened your steering, but the wheel is actually not straight yet. is it true??

thanx for replies

No, that's not true.

it just has a sense of 'disconnection', or a wooden feel, kind of artificial weighting.

the steering is still direct, it turns when you want it to turn.

it just has this weird feeling at first, but then you get used to it.

It does help at parking lots, oh yes.

do the other car model eps have the turn knob?

a way to chk the health of the eps = turn the knob and do not touch the steering wheel,... if it does not turn,... healthy. If it does,... a little sickly.

mine turns a little.

mine diagnosed as "unknown" hahahaa!!!

heck!

mine,... i have two spare racks, one spare module.

this eps thingy, is it as good as hydraulic for tracking?? will the control be different, and will it last as long... hehe more question

eps is just a piece of turning assist component replace the mechanical 1 to electronically control 1... easy says, from mechanical belt pulling to electrical motor pumping... wats the big deal ler..??? eps not really helps in traction & bout the light & hard, still according to the speed, just like other old model with sensor...
the life ban is 5yrs or 120k km that Honda Japan claimed in Japan. for the electrical motor. as the mechanical belt pulled pump, 10yrs or 300k km.
