Hindraf Rally

Something a little bit side ways, but kinda related. Now, I don't know just how true this story is so just take it as reading article, and maybe take it as careful consideration. If any of you happen to be at the same place where this incident took place, maybe you would want to see if the shop owner is indian or not. Here's the forwarded article that I got.

Subject: DO NOT VISIT CAMERON HIGHLANDS TANAH RATA!
Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2007 17:41:17 +0800

Dear friends, i'm writing this based on my recent visit to Cameron Highlands with my sister, sister in law , brother and my families. There were 4 group of us. We have stayed at cameron TANAH RATA for 2 days already but haven't walk around tanah rata town ( we usually go to Brinchang ) But on the third day ( our last stay ) i decided to walk around and have breakfast there. We walk along the shops and finally decided to settle down at an indian restaurant called D' CHENNAI CURRY HOUSE'.

There were 20 of us. 10 adults ( 4 males, 4 females and 2 maids ) and 9 children and a baby. We started ordering and things are ok at first but while eating i was wondering besides us there was only one occupied table ( why so little?? ) And surely, because the food was not so good!

Then my 3 year old son wanted to go to toilet, and so my brother took him in the restaurant to look for toilet ( we were sitting outside in front of the restaurant because there were so many of us the worker place tables for us to sit outside ) Then when my brother came out from the toilet with my son , i heard the owner of the restaurant nagging my brother. We asked whats wrong and my brother said the owner was unhappy because my son didn't close the toilet door. And i heard my brother answer him ' just a small kid what! theres no need to close the toilet door ma' . But the owner ( indian or singh ) keep on nagging and macam wanted to fight. So my brother said ' aiya u stupid la, a 3 year old go toilet close door!'. And during the time my hubby keep on saying ' ok enough la, diam, bring the bill we want to go off '. But the man was already very angry. He ran to his counter and bring out a PARANG. Everyone was shouting and i quickly shoved the kids away. The owner started saying ' im gonna put you down ' to my hubby and brother. I was calling out for help to the people there who was looking but they all said ' PANGGIL POLIS SENDIRI LA ' ( THE PENDUDUK THERE REALLY SOOOO SELFISH ) THEN THE OWNER HELD MY HUBBY AND BROTHER CAPTIVE AND WON'T LET THEM GO. My sister in law seeing that no one came to help, ran to the nearest police station! I was there helpless and the restaurant worker ( the one who make the tasteless roti canai ) whip out a chopper. Oh my god, i was soooo afraid! And the restaurant owner punya friends also join in. They were throwing things at us ( bottles, glasses of drinks and chairs ) I saw a fat indian men threw a bottle at my brother and hit his chest and the indian worker threw the chair at me! Luckily my brother try to block it with another chair and the chair that the indian worker threw broke in to pieces and the plastic hit my lips. My lips were bleeding and my brother finger were bleeding too cause by the parang when my hubby and brother try to calm the owner down as he was waving the parang and it kena my brother finger. Luckily it was just a small cut. We quickly take the kids back to the car and drove to the police station. By the time we arrived my sister in law already there.

The cops was of no use. We asked them to go there immediately as my hubby and brother still help captive but they were slow to respond. When finally the police able to brought them back to the police station, i was relieved but angry at the same time. How could this happened at CAMERON HIGHLANDS? i've been there last time but this time i make a mistake to eat at the indian restaurant! When the indian owner arrived at the police station he just keep saying ' he called me stupid, why? i'm not stupid ' Hes really STUPID. Hey how many 3 years old were teach to go to the toilet and close door?? and because of these the owner can whip out his parang and threatened people??

Statements were taken but the indian owner, indian worker and their friends were NOT arrested! I was dissapointed and the owner was even allow to go back to his restaurant! I asked the police and they said its ok they will SIASAT but how come the weapons - PARANG AND CHOPPER were not confiscate?? They still have the weapon! How can the police allow this??

So i'm telling you guys, DON'T GO TO CAMERON HIGHLANDS cause this place is really very dangerous and the people - UNCIVILISED, UNEDUCATED , UNCARING AND CRAZY! If you really wannna go, go to brinchang where theres lots of chinese ( its safer and the chinese people are very helpful ). NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS INDIAN RESTAURANT CALLED ' D' CHENNAI CURRY HOUSE ' AT TANAH RATA. Better still never go to TANAH RATA!.

What a story ... Good reading though ....

I give 3 1/2 stars over 5 for it .... hehehehehe ....

And I f**king hate such an indian restaurant.
A few days ago, I belanje a few frens at Ihsan restaurant at BK3, bandar kinrara (indian also), and when we all wanna go off, i asked to bring the bill.
It was RM17, then i told him to calculate it for 2nd and 3rd time. RM17...!!!
Ok la, i gave him RM17, then I went to the counter to buy cigarette. And coincidently I saw my bill, RM16. Loudly, I asked the cashier why I pay RM17 instead of RM16 at the bill. He said he don’t know, that he only given RM16 for that receipt. Angrily,
i bambu him and i called that fella (the one who bring the bill), and my RM1 was in his pocket already. The taukeh seems want to say sorry, but in the rude way. Grrrr…
I had been cheated, it's not big deal with RM1 but, i felt cheated and i was cheated.
Remember this one, Ihsan Restaurant at BK3 Bandar Kinrara.

karl5511: Actually sounded like the real culprit is the guy that gave you the bill. He's pocketing RM1 as his own personnal "commission". Maybe the boss or cashier would not even know what happened and maybe he should have been alot more polite and apologize to you truthfully ...

Who knows after you left, the guy that'd been taking "commission" later turned out to be the Ihsan Restaurant "Curry Special" ..... hahahahaha ...

seems like after the hindraff a lot of the unpleasant experiences with indian started to float up....

by the way, i would suggest the indian community need to look at themself as me and friends around me also have very unpleasant experiences with the indian in msia, mainly with the "bollywood" style of provoking attitude.

i am not biase against the indian but many unpleasant experiences involved with them really makes me piss off, especially the "schumacher" driving style on the road and "mafia" style provoking attitude in the town.

Ya, like it coz has full details on the action part ... hehehehe

Anyway, we should pin-point on indians now since the Hindraff incident. It does not reflect all indians and I would not say the incident is completely wrong either ... at least not on some of the claims ... :hmmmm:

Every race has their own culture and bad-apples ... It is a compromising situation where we should live with one another's culture, religion and belief, and NOT as some others implemented culture !

here is my reply taken from Melody in http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/interesting-downloads/178387-inspirations-stories-6.html

Why did he cry? (A True Story)

A true story that happened in China

A bus full of passengers was travelling on hilly road.

Midway through the journey, 3 armed thugs was eyeing the pretty woman
bus driver.
They forced the bus to stop and wanted to have fun with the driver!

The woman driver naturally shouted for help,
but all the rest of the passengers just kept quiet.

Then a weakly looking middle-aged man came forth to ask the 3 men to
stop; but he was instead beaten up.
The man was very angry and appealed loudly to the other passengers to
stop this uncivilised act but nobody responded. And the driver was
dragged by the 3 men to the bushes nearby.

An hour later, the 3 thugs and the ruffled driver came back to the bus
and the driver is ready to drive off again....

"Hey you, get down the bus!" the woman driver shouted to the man who
tried to assist her earlier on.

The man was bewildered and said:
"What's wrong with you? I was trying to save you just now and was I
wrong in doing so?"

"You save me? What have you done to save me?"
The driver retorted, and a few of the passengers were quietly laughing away.

The man was really angry. Even though he did not have the ability to
save her, he should not be given this treatment at all. He refused to
get down the bus and said; "I paid for the trip and I have the right
to remain."

The driver put on a grim face and said: "If you don't get down, the
bus will not move on."

What was unexpected was that the passengers, who were oblivious to the
barbaric act of the thugs just now, suddenly woke up and in a
concerted effort asked the man to get down the bus saying:
"You might as well get off the bus, we have things to attend do and
cannot afford anymore delays!"

A few stronger passenger were indeed trying to drag the man down the bus

The 3 thugs were smiling knowingly at each other and commented: "We
must have done a great job to the lady!"

After much ado, the man's luggage was thrown out the bus window and he
was ousted out of the bus.

The bus started on its journey again. The driver straightened up her
hair and turned the radio to full volume.

The bus was reaching the hill top and will go downhill after a turn.
The right side of the bus was facing an unfathomable cliff.

The speed of the bus increased gradually. The driver's face was very
calm with both hands on the steering wheel. Tears started to swell in
her eyes.

One of the thug realised something amiss and said to the driver:
"Drive slowly, what are you trying to do?"

The driver said nothing, but the bus travelled faster and faster.
The thug tried to grap hold of the steering wheel, but the bus shoot
towards the cliff like an arrow leaving the bow.

The next day, the local paper reported a tragic accident at the 'Tiger
Taming Hill' region. A medium sized bus fell through the cliff and the
driver and the 13 passengers were all killed.

The man who was chased down the bus saw the paper and cried. Nobody
knew what was he crying about and why he cried!

You know why he cried?
If you were in the bus, would you stand up like the man did?

We need people like him to create and sustain a normal society!

When we treat others with our hearts; we will receive warmth and love
from people!

It is a very tragic story. What will you do if you are the bus driver.

Life driven by anger is no life.

Speaking of good mamak stalls and late nite cholesterol loading, I think the mamak at Taman Desa near Telekom is nice (whatever name it is again ...)

Any other places except Steven's Corner (alittle too crowded and maybe over-rated)?

Hmm...Nothing to do with Hindraf. Because i faced it previous days before.
I'm not saying like I wouldnt be lepak at the mamak stall anymore, but what was happened is really make me...Grrrr...

Sorry to say this but I kinda have bad impression on indians in general, whether they are well dressed or not (I know this may have nothing to do with it at all but just a matter of speech), educated or not. They tend to give me an impression that they will react violently very very quickly and they seem to lose their heads very fast too. But some years back, they are not very violent.

Does anyone remember a time, maybe some years back, when Pak Lah took over not too long ago. He mentioned about setting up an Anti Corruption Agency and the police force was against it. The PDRM even say that they will just let the crime rates increase if ACA is effected. Then, from there, the rempits started to become brave, in very stupid and threatening ways. After that, indians (many of them, not all) slowly also become threateningly and stupidly bold. And today, it seems like criminals (irregardless of race, etc.) have become bold to commit all sorts of crimes, even those that are seriously-out-of-this-world inhumane crimes. They even do it in broad day light.

On the other hand, PDRM seems to be living up to their promises. ACA has already been in effect and hence, we can now see the police not doing their jobs anymore. I would just conclude that they are NOT doing their jobs at all. Notice how many security guard companies uses foreign workers as security guards? There was an article about foreign workers in malaysia and big security companies like Securicor, etc. have commented that when they give opportunities to malays to do the job, they don't do their jobs properly and are not dedicated. However, the security company mentioned that foreign workers are more dedicated and more willing to give it their all to be security guards. Personally, I find foreigner security guards more friendly too.

And that's my crappy 2 cents. heh heh

Pak Lah should just consult ZTH General Talk for ideas .... PERIOD !
