When Nissan pulled out from the DeltaWing project, we thought that we will not see any more of the unique and radical rocket-like racer. Like reported earlier, Nissan is looking into expanding the program, getting new engine and chassis configuration which might involve it being a closed-cockpit variant. The transformation now is complete as the public will get the first on-track glimpse of their all-new and very different ZEOD RC extended-range electric racer at Fuji Speedway.

Taking it out during the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship, the ZEOD RC will be fielded to go through a demonstration run. This will probably one of the many testing the car will be subjected to before it is taken to the U.K. for a more rigorous testing before the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place in June 2014.

Driving the car in Japan will be Super GT driver Michael Krumm, who was already involved in the DeltaWing program. Krumm also has experience running in Le Mans, with him finishing in third in the LMP2 class earlier this year. Once the car is transported to the U.K., GT Academy star Lucas Ordonez will be handling most of the test driving.

Since Fuji is just a mere 90 minutes from Fuji Speedway, the car will have to perform properly to please the fans in the crowd. The team is also eager to find out the real capabilities of the racer on the track, collecting key data points at the same time.

The Nissan ZEOD RC will be placed in Garage 56 later in Le Mans, which is where the experimental vehicles are placed. This is also where the DeltaWing started from when in was fielded in the 2013 Le Mans.
