Audi Sport Quattro Rumored to Return for 35th Anniversary in 2015 with 380hp!

The Audi Sport Quattro did not only make a startling appearance back in the 80s as an ultra-fast rally car, it had actually stayed in the hearts and minds of rally fans up until today. And after all those years, they are still waiting anxiously for a successor to come forward and re-live the shine that the Quattro brought during its Group B rallying era.

The wait might soon be over as rumors are surfacing that the Audi Sport Quattro might be making a comeback in 2015. Why 2015, if you may ask? Dubbed internally as the Q35, it might suggest that it is the Quattro’s 35th anniversary present to the ever-growing automotive world.  With the original, limited-run Sport Quattro housing a 302-horsepower 2.1-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, this new model will also have a five-cylinder power plant, only with a larger cubic capacity 2.5-liters and an output of 380-horsepower. Coupled off with Audi’s S-tronic DSG gearbox, the new Sport Quattro will only be available in all-wheel drive.

The car is expected to be priced somewhere between the TT and the R8, which places it in the same level as the Mercedes C63 AMG or the BMW M3. If the prediction turns out to be spot on, this places the successor surprisingly close to the value of the original Sport Quattro at $71,500. Style-wise, the concept revealed at the Paris Motor Show back in 2010 looks properly good, and it somehow looks more like a proper production-line car rather than those sci-fi concept ones.
