This Saturday is set to become some of the most exciting race weekends here in Malaysia. Entering the country’s top female racers including Asia’s fastest lady driver, Natasha Seatter and former Asian Classic Car Challenge (ACCC) champion Nurul Husna Nasharuddin, the inaugural Superwoman Sprint GP Race has all the ingredients to grow as the Malaysia’s top female motor racing event.

The first all-female only Battle of the Lady Karters has attracted top drivers, and will go into battle at the new Superkart Indoor Karting in Semenyih, Selangor this Saturday (February 20).

FB_IMG_1455708646817Delighted with the response for the maiden event, Chief organizer Michael Ang is hopeful that the event will grow into an annual affair, “So far for this Saturday’s event, we have confirmed participation from top female names such as:

  • Natasha Seatter
  • Nurul Husna
  • Siti Shahkirah
  • Geraldine Read
  • Gina Finanza

With participation from these talented female drivers who are regulars at the racing track, We are hopeful more will join us and support this event this Saturday. We are very excited to host this special event for the first time ever.

“We realized in the recent years, the number of lady drivers are on the increase. So, we hope we can gather more lady drivers who have the passion for motorsports to start their racing activities and gain more racing experience through karting.

“We have created a special Facebook page for the event and we welcome any and all female participants out there including first timers to join us. There are various categories to ensure a level playing field and to make sure everybody has a good time,” added Michael, who runs the karting facility.

Nurul Husna, on the other hand, competed locally in the ACC and Malaysia Championship Series at Sepang International Circuit, and had also clinched recent podium at the Sepang 1000KM Endurance race just last October.

While racing prowess and skills will be an advantage, top Malaysian driver Mark Darwin, who is a regular at the Superkart Indoor Karting, said that the competition this Saturday will be an open affair.

“It’s a concrete track, very different from a tarmac track where grip levels are lower in comparison. Go karting is all about achieving maximum grip at all times. Finding grip on a concrete finish is tedious. One might be fast on a tarmac circuit, but may not necessarily perform the same on concrete” said the 2015 MCS champion.

Opened in May last year, the Superkart Indoor Karting is Malaysia’s largest indoor go-kart center with track layouts ever changing to ensure karters never get bored of the same circuit. Karts with CRG racing chassis and 4-stroke engines are used at the facility; providing a maximum top speed of up to 60km/hour.
