When Ford unveiled their new GT supercar, the auto community was astounded as living in the digital era, it is very tricky to get such a project developed in full secrecy. But Ford still managed to pull it off and brought back the element of surprise into the industry, and at the 2015 North American International Auto Salon.
Not missing the Geneva Motor Show as well, Ford’s Performance director Dave Pericak was also present to announce the pricing details of this new Ford GT. In its first European debut, the Ford GT will be priced at USD 400,000 (RM 1,474,720), which is very close to what a Lamborghini Aventador would cost. Ford is also looking forward in making the GT an exclusive model, which is why they have decided to limit the annual production to just 250 units.
Ford managed to keep the GT as a well-kept secret as they developed the car late in night and in a basement. Coming into full surprise at Detroit, the car features a twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost mid-mounted engine that pushes out more than 600-horsepower. The Ford GT also features carbon fiber body panels, aluminium front and rear subframes as well as other lightweight components to make it “one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car”.
