The 2001 The Fast and the Furious film had featured quite a number of interesting cars in it which includes Brian’s green Mitsubishi Eclipse and Dom’s Mazda FD3S RX7. But the one that is the most memorable among them would definitely be the orange Toyota Supra which pretty much became Brian’s main car throughout the movie.
If you would like to own this piece of legacy from the highly successful Fast and Furious franchise, this is your chance. The actual 1993 Toyota Supra that starred in the movie will be going under the hammer at a Mecum Auctions event which will soon be held in Indianapolis.
The Supra was built by movie prop veteran Eddie Paul from The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California, and was featured quite a number of times in the movie, which of course includes the final drag scene against Dom’s 1970 Dodge Charger.
Fitted with a Bomex body kit APR wing and decals from San Diego’s Modern Image, the 3.0-liter straight-six engine is naturally-aspirated, so it should be housing about 230-horsepower. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, one will also get a couple of nitrous oxide tanks fitted in the rear. While we are pretty sure that those are only for show, the car was properly built with heavy duty suspension, a full roll cage and bucket seats so that it could undertake all its punishing stunt works.
The Mecum auctions is set to take place in May 12-17, and the car is estimated to cost somewhere around USD 150,000 – 200,000 (RM 542,865 – 723,820)!
