The newest version of the BMW M4 MotoGP safety car was recently revealed, and at the same time giving strong hints of a much more powerful version of the M4 in the near future. Most probably coming out in the guise of a Clubsport production model, the M4 safety car has received quite a number of improvements to properly undertake its role as the MotoGP safety car.

While BMW did not release any specific figures on the performance of this M4, they did say that the engine’s output has been boosted thanks to a new water-injection cooling system. This system supplements the existing cooling system and aims to control the turbocharger’s temperature whilst on the track in order for the safety car to maintain longer high speed runs.

This cooling system is water-based and the five-litre tank, a water pump, sensors and valve delivering water injectors at a pressure of 10bar are located in the boot. As for the time being, the system is only available on the M4 safety car, but BMW did say that it will be used on an M-series model in the near future following testing on the safety car.
