Italian coachbuilder Zagato had given birth to a number of cars that looks out of the ordinary. Although they are not what you usually see on the roads, the results from this long-surviving coachbuilder still manages to turn heads anywhere it goes. And the latest, and shall I add unusual creation to have come from them comes in a form of what used to be a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Called the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, this uniquely-designed Bull made its debut at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. This Lamborghini + Zagato collaboration was commissioned by Albert Spiess, who was described as “one of the most significant Lamborghini collectors” in the world.
“I always appreciated the ability of Zagato to create timeless lines with a forceful visual impact. I believe that a sensual design inspired by nature, together with the best technology, strike a perfect balance that is possible to achieve only in Italy. The 5-95 will be a fundamental piece of my collection,” said Spiess.
Using the underpinnings of the Gallardo LP 570-4, Zagato gave the Lamborghini a total makeover of its exterior. No changes whatsoever was done to the performance, where the 5.2-liter V10 engine still pushes out 562-horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.
