Not long after the unveiling of the new Nissan Pulsar, a couple of Photoshop masters had taken the liberty to show how handsome this new hatch would look when given the iconic Nismo touches. And it seems that the results from Road Magazine’s digital specialist Wild Speed of the Pulsar Nismo renderings are so convincing that Nissan has reportedly considering in coming up with the performance version of the Pulsar.

“It depends on the business case. We are seriously looking into the idea, but when we do, we would like a car that does well. With 200hp you are simply no match for the competition. You have to come up with at least 250hp to seriously come across. The car must be good, otherwise we do not,” said Ponz Pandikuthira to Dutch magazine Autovisie. Pandikuthira is Nissan’s General Manager and Chief Marketing Manager for crossovers and C-segment products.

The 200-horsepower output he is referring to belongs to the Juke Nismo, coming out from a 1.6-liter DIG-T turbo engine. And to run against the top-selling hot hatches, they would have to do better than that as basically all of its rivals are powered by 2.0-liter power plants.
