The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Gets 560HP from a 3.8L TT GT-R Engine!

When the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge was unveiled back at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, they gave no hint on what is residing under the hood of this luxury sedan. With Infiniti President Johan de Nysschen himself said that “the engine we are evaluating for the Q50 Eau Rouge is a big personality, V-cylinder engine with forced induction”, we had no idea that he was hinting towards the heart of a beast.

Apparently the power plant in mention is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine which is able to pump out 560-horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a seven-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive, a configuration that we need no introduction to.

Even so, Infiniti did not explicitly mention that the engine and the transmission came from a Nissan GT-R, but it seems unlikely for them to develop the engine on their own. But they did say that the Q50 Eau Rouge could do a 0-100 in less than four seconds and has a top speed of 290km/h. with such figures, this could just be the perfect competitors for rivalling Germans sedans like BMW’s M3 and Mercedes’ C63 AMG.

Do not get your hopes up too high for the moment though as currently Infiniti has no plans in putting the Eau Rouge into production, but they did mentioned that they are committed to fielding sportier cars at some point.
