When an automaker wants to make a car that is deemed too extreme or crazy to exist in real-life, the digital world offers the next best thing for their creation to run wild. And joining the line-up of the Gran Turismo Vision concept is Subaru’s latest creation called the Viziv GT Vision Concept.
Going with the description of a “true sportscar with the most aggressive styling and vehicle specs in Subaru’s history”, the Viziv GT is pretty much like the other Vision Concept we have seen; wide, low, and aggressively styled. It is a bit surprising that Subaru did not make something in the likes of an extreme rally machine given their specialty in such area, but this GT racer looks properly built as well.
In Gran Turismo, the Viziv GT is comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, mating the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors – one for the front and two in the rear. Sending the power to all four wheels, this powertrain produces a combined output of 591-horsepower and 593 lb-ft of torque.
“By independently controlling each of the motor outputs, turning ability while cornering is drastically improved, while the torque vectoring lamps built into the fenders visualize its movement”. No further information was released regarding the performance of the car, but Subaru said that “carbon materials have been utilized everywhere”, allowing it to weigh only 1,380kg.
