he Bugatti Veyron has long established itself as a record-breaking machine, taking the word “top speed” to a whole new level for production cars. But obviously their stay on the throne will not be without any challengers as Hennessey has been harassing the Veyron with their own creation; the Venom GT.
But the 430+km/h Venom GT is far from what Hennessey and his crew want to settle down with, so they are now taking it up a notch and aiming for 460+km/h. And to achieve the target, they will need a different machine to undertake this enormous task; which is where the Venom F5 comes into the picture.
In what is basically a modified and updated version of the Venom GT, John Hennessey told TopGear in an interview that he thinks that the 290mph (466km/h) “will be possible”. Named after a terrifying tornado, the F5 is expected to get over 1,400-horsepower from a heavily reworked twin turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 engine.
“We are very excited about this next chapter of the Venom, which brings forth an all-new design that is not only a powerful and unique statement that our clients are looking for, but a vehicle that will achieve even higher performance through improved aerodynamics,” said John Hennessey.
Do you think Hennessey’s new creation can actually reach its target, or even better, surpass it? Expect the Venom F5 to make its semi-production top speed run somewhere next year, with the first production units reaching the customers somewhere in 2016.
