The Sepang International Circuit was brought to life last weekend with the roars of multiple angry Italian V8s in the Round 6 of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific. With two races set to take place at the 5.543km Formula 1, circuit, the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific features the best drivers from all over the world battling it out in the gorgeous yet wild Ferrari 458 Challenge race machines.
In Race 1, Philippe Prette from Hong Kong took the win for the Pirelli classification with a time of 31:38.378. Not only had he led the race from start to the finishing line, Philippe also managed to clock the fastest lap time with a 2:13.380. Steve Wyatt from Australia grabbed the second place, coming 6.233 seconds behind Philippe, followed by Ringo Chong from Singapore in third.
Indonesian David Tjiptobiantoro took the spotlight as he took the win for the Coppa Shell classification. With an overall timing of 31:58.710, Tani Hanna from Lebanon came home in second place while Vicente Floirendo from Philippines finished in third.
The sixth and final round of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific came to an end at Sepang International Circuit the next day, and the field of 22 cars was still as energetic as ever to reach the chequered flag. This time, it is Steve Wyatt from Australia who took the win in the Pirelli classification after starting the race in pole position. Also clocking the fastest time in the race with a 2:14.756, Philippe Prette had to settle for second place this time, followed closely by Angelo Negro from Hong Kong in third place.
As for David Tjiptobiantoro, it has been a perfect weekend for him as he secures another win in the Coppa Shell classification. Finishing in second was Vicente Floirendo from Philippines and Paul van Loenhout from Australia in third. The Ferrari Finali Mondiali will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit at Abu Dhabi from3rd to 6th December 2014.
