Would You Be Interested in Nissan’s New Micra Nismo S?

A lot of people envy the Japanese as they will always get the best models from their own automakers. But having said so, would you envy them in having Nissan’s new addition into the Nismo family, the Micra Nismo S?

For starters, this is pretty much like what Nismo is doing wildly on most of the Nissan cars these days; slapping a new bodykit to make them look fresh. The Micra (or in some parts of the world is called the March) gets a Nismo-enhanced exterior which includes a new front bumper and rear bumper designed to reduce air resistance, new front grille, side sill protectors, special fenders, red side mirrors and LED daytime running lights.

Under the hood, there are two variants offered for the Micra Nismo models. The ‘Basic’ model is powered by a 1.2-liter engine that squeezes out 116-horsepower and 156 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT gearbox. The ‘S’ variant on the other hand gets a larger 1.5-liter unit, specially tuned by Nismo themselves and is set to excite the driver with 153-horsepower and 206 Nm of torque, and it comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Nissan Micra Nismo will be offered in three color options; Pure Black, Brilliant Silver, and Brilliant White Pearl. The interior is spiced up with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, new speedometer, bucket seats, custom shift knob, piano black trim and special pedals. As a plus, the Micra Nismo will also be fitted with a specially developed exhaust system, customized suspension, an upgraded brake system and faster gear changes.

While for the time being the Micra Nismo is only made available in Japan, would you be interested to fork out RM 57,000 for this souped-up, little city car?

If people are willing to pay 100k for the Swift Sport, I think there might be people who will be willing to splurge on this pocket rocket. Swift vs Micra, 136hp vs 153hp, 160Nm vs 206Nm.
