The Pagani Huayra Sets a New Top Gear Test Track Record on Season 19’s Premiere!

We have heard about it, and we have seen how different it is from its older brother. The Huayra is Pagani’s latest creation and their attempt to combine both a powerful supercar and at the same time a beautiful work of art with a class of its own. So when the chaps from Top Gear UK came back on air, they wasted no time in putting it on the track.

Aside from Richard Hammond taking the twin-turbo V12 monster sideways on their test track, there is one other thing that the viewers are anxiously waiting to know about this new supercar; its time around the Top Gear Test Track. And taking a quick glance at the previous Paganis going around it, they had managed to secure spots of around 1:23+ minutes, with the Zonda Roadster F recording the fastest time of 1:17.8. So how did the Huayra performed on its debut on the punishing test track?

With a curb weight of 1,350kgs and a massive V12 engine onboard, the twin turbo brought the Huayra to a whole new level as the 720-horsepower machine gave season 19 a terrific start by setting an impressive lap time of 1:13.8! Piloted by The Stig, the Huayra obliterated the previous record set by the Ariel Atom V8 500 by an astonishing 1.3 seconds without sacrificing the roof or the air conditioning. If you wish to see the video itself, it begins at the end of the first video and continues through the second.
