Amongst the many cars previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show happening this week at Putra World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur – the Peugeot 2008 takes the spotlight most definitely. The Urban SUV capitalises on the company’s expertise to create an innovative vehicle for the B-segment. With only a couple of months away from its official launch in Malaysia – Nasim Sdn Bhd; the official distributor here in Malaysia is now opening the 2008 for orders!
With styling cues shared with signature modern Peugeot styling – the 2008 would be a great addition to not only the company’s line-up here in Malaysia, but also as a competitor to other urban roundabout vehicle market here. Other than its modern styling, the 2008 packs even more technology in tune with its time.
Inside, the dashboard is enhanced by a seven-inch high-resolution colour touchscreen that acts as the in-car entertainment system for the 2008 Urban SUV. At the same time, the system is coupled with an Arkamys 3D sound audio system with six speakers to intensify the experience of a daily driven car. The interior also features a panoramic glass roof, fitted with its electric shutter that enables the mechanism to allow natural light into the interior for a much more capacious experience.
The 2008 houses a 1.6-litre VTi four-cylinder heart which promises a maximum output of 112bhp and 160nm. Although that may not sound uber impressive – bare in mind that this vehicle will spend most of its time in the urban areas and that power should suffice its daily travels. The tentative pricing of this little roundabout SUV is at RM118k and we can expect it to reach our shores officially around January next year.
