Citroën is growing strong on our shores – and with the excellent response from the DS4 and DS5 from the Malaysian market, the company plans on expanding their line-up with the entry level DS3 hatch. Here for a market preview at the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow in PWTC – the DS3 carries modern/retro-like styling that we at Zerotohundred absolutely approve of! We think it would be a great addition to the Malaysian market indeed.

Naza Euro Motors are looking to launch the little DS3 in the first quarter of 2014, however they have yet to release an expected price. Citroën says that the car was designed to meet the requirements of even the most discerning connoisseur, the DS3 offers an extensive array of style, personalisation and refined driving experience which is in tune with the lifestyle of the modern-day Malaysian market.

Although there are various engines offered by the French manufacturer, Naza Euro Motors intend on offering the Malaysian market the VTi 120 which packs a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces a decent 118bhp and 160nm. With a competitive Zerotohundred sprint time of 8.9 seconds, the little French hatch may have more than just contemporary styling up its sleeves.

Building upon Citroën’s extensive experience in producing smooth running-gear, the DS3 promises an impressive ride comfort tagged with responsive road-handling and dynamic control. We have yet to drive this hatch but from what we’ve heard – it is an absolutely fun car to drive. We are more than looking forward to have the DS3 here in Malaysia and the DS3 will go side-by-side in the market with its competitors like the Mini One, Polo TSi and Peugeot 208. But with looks that can absolutely sell – we think Citroën would not have a problem marketing this car in this market!
