After years of its establishment and conquest across the globe, finally Koenigsegg will be arriving on our shores. Representing the rapidly-rising Swedish supercar brand in Malaysia will be Naza Swedish Motors; a subsidiary from the Naza Group, after signing a franchise agreement with Koenigsegg Automotive AB.
Naza Swedish will be responsible not only for the marketing, distributorship and after-sales service of Koenigsegg cars in Malaysia, but also for Indonesia at the same time. Although this is a piece of pleasant news, it is not much of a surprise as we have heard reports of the official handler for Ferrari and Maserati in Malaysia showing interest in bringing in the Swedish missile into Malaysia.
“This is a very important partnership for us. This is the best brand that you could ask for. It is a recognition (for us) to work with Koenigsegg”, said Naza Group of companies joint group executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin.
The service centre and showroom will be ready somewhere within the first quarter of 2014, and it will be showcasing the still-fresh and blisteringly-fast Koenigsegg Agera S. It also comes with a pretty hefty price tag of RM 4.3 million. Koenigsegg has grabbed four Guinness World Records in the past 10 years, and the Agera S holds a couple more like the 0-300-0 km/h in just 21.19 seconds.
