When MotorTrend takes a bunch of cars to an empty airfield for a drag race and steadily claims it as the ‘World’s Greatest Drag Race’, they certainly were not kidding. Of course, the cars in mention here are not slackers as all pack serious horsepower under the hood that howl loud enough to wake up the dead. So are you ready for the ‘World’s Greatest Drag Race’, Part 3?
Sure enough, the Nissan GT-R, famed for its rocket start will be the benchmark for this street-legal machine showdown. But it will not be an easy run for it as it will be facing 12 other competitors, ready to knock off the GT-R off the throne like how the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 did back in the second ‘World’s Greatest Drag Race’.
A car like the Mercedes Benz SLS Black Series is truly a serious competitor with a 6.2-liter V8 engine churning out 622-horsepower to the rear wheels. Then again, the new SRT Viper, Aston Martin’s new Vanquish and the Bentley Continental GT Speed are no pushovers too. How would all of these cars fair against the new Nissan GT-R Track Pack packing 545-horsepower?
