Lightning Does Strikes the Same Place Twice – Day 6

Rising up from the unwanted incident of Race 1, Team FXPrimus Aylezo was determined to wring out the best for the second race and actually get the taste of crossing the checkered flag in Shanghai. The mechanics had done a miraculous job in repairing the car overnight for today’s race, and the drivers are going all-out this time.

Everyone was actually worried for today’s race as yesterday’s weather forecast predicted a downpour somewhere in the morning, but luckily there was not a single drop of rain as the second race looms closer. With the confidence level now boosted back to race mode, the FXPrimus Aylezo’s Gallardo Super Trofeo takes the stage one last time for a final showdown at Shanghai International Circuit.

The number of spectators for today’s race day was also very encouraging as the grandstand is filled with motorsport lovers from all over. It is actually a great sight to see the Chinese supporting the motorsport scene at the Shanghai Circuit because it is a rare sight in Malaysia to see the grandstand seats to be even half full despite giving a free admittance to the public.

With all eyes locked on the fast and furious bulls, the second race kicked in with the symphony of speed echoing throughout the circuit. Although Team FXPrimus Aylezo started in the seventh position on the grid for the second race, they managed to impress the spectators by going all the way up to the third place just after few laps into the race.

It was all looking very promising for the team and they had even managed to build up a comfortable lead from the fourth position. But the nature of motorsports is just unpredictable and when you thought that all the areas have been checked upon, sometimes lightning does strike twice at the same spot.

Again halfway into the race, Team FXPrimus Aylezo’s bull suddenly disappeared from the circuit and is back into the pits. Apparently the damage suffered on the car’s rear left suspension yesterday reappeared to haunt the car, and pushing it further into the race will just put the drivers at great risk.

The call was very tough to make, and they did not come all the way to Shanghai to settle with a DNF. But coming back to reality and as a professional race team, Team FXPrimus Aylezo again was forced to retire from the race.

It was not a pleasant sight, and needless to say, the team was distraught in knowing that their efforts had gone down the drain. But with passion in motorsports driving them forward, this is just a small obstacle that they would have to face before reaching the moment of glory. The next round will be held at Sepang, so maybe being at home turf will spell a better ending for the team.

As they packed away the equipment and haul the bull into the container, Team FXPrimus Aylezo bids goodbye to Shanghai International Circuit and began their journey back to Malaysia. A lot of lessons were learnt in the week spent in China, and those will definitely come in handy when handling the challenges that might appear somewhere in the future.

Team FXPrimus Aylezo would like to extend their greatest appreciation to everyone who had helped in making this journey possible, especially FXPrimus, JH Italia, Ecotint, Ninetology, Fuchs Titan, TACTIX and Motorsport Playground. A big thank you also goes out to Zerotohundred.com for being the team’s official media partner for the 2013 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series.
