Judgement Day @ the 2013 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia! – Day 5

After all the hard work and sleepless nights spent in prepping up the car, the day that the team had been waiting for has finally arrived; race day. This is where the men get separated from the boys, the gifted from the crowd, and the fast leading the way to the finish line.

Having qualified for fourth in the grid from the 18 participating teams for the first race, the team was in high spirits to get down to the circuit and bring back the first win for Team FXPrimus Aylezo. But that is easier said than done as other teams from all over Asia also came all the way to Shanghai with the same purpose, so this will undoubtedly be a really tough fight.

Since the car ran flawlessly during the previous day’s practice and qualifying sessions, the team was practically ready to face any challenge that may come ahead during the race. Giving a final check just to be on the safe side, the drivers jumped into their overalls…

…and wished each other the best of luck before embarking into this high-speed journey.

As before, Dilantha jumps into the Gallardo Super Trofeo as the first driver of the race. And with a little helping hand from Zen, they were all set to begin the race.

It was not long after the cars lined up on the grid…

…the first race of the 2013 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series roars with a mighty start! Almost instantly the Shanghai International Circuit was filled with the sound of the 570-horsepower monsters driven by the best drivers from the region and beyond.

It is no surprise that the race is dubbed as the “fastest one-make race series in the world” as the Gallardo Super Trofeo has the speed of a lightning, and demands the upmost respect at the same time.

But although the team had done their best in prepping up the race machine, one should remember that this is motorsports and anything could happen. Team FXPrimus Aylezo had to experience this first hand as halfway through the race, they overtook car number 66 in the chicanes to claim third position but on the way out, the car came back and came into contact, damaging the rear left suspension.

At first, the mechanics were rushing to rectify the issue as soon as possible without realizing the real extent of the damage done from the contact.

But as they took off more parts from the car with no signs of getting the repairs done anytime soon,…

…they finally decided to retire from the race as the car just could not run safely for today’s race.

The team was obviously very disappointed as their White Knight now sat at the pit lanes motionless instead of speeding its way to victory,…

…but they would have to put the emotions aside as there is another race day the following day, and dwelling in the past too much will do no good.

As the team pushed the wounded Bull back to the pits, they went straight in getting it patched up for the next race tomorrow morning. This is nothing that the mechanics could not handle, and we will certainly be waiting to see the Bull back in its running condition for the next race. Do stay around as we will be bringing you FXPrimus Aylezo’s final showdown at Shanghai!
