Augusto Farfus Participates in ‘Scare Your Wife at The Track’!

We can only barely begin to imagine how many of us out there that are in a relationship of some sort and can understand what is meant by the term – human speed limiter, but for those who find this term unfathomable, it merely means ‘a significant other who turns into a vocal speed limiter once seated in a vehicle you’re driving.’ We’re not saying that it’s a bad thing, after all it does ‘limit’ us from speeding too excessively, just that we can find it rather annoying at times.

Now here’s 29 year-old Brazilian, Augusto Farfus, BMW DTM driver who obviously races for a living and you could say his ‘office’ is the cockpit of a race car – or any car for that matter. In any case, his significant other (wife and ‘human speed limiter’), Liri Farfus, has followed him to ‘work’ at the infamous Nurburgring.

Farfus’ job for the day is to test out his ‘human speed limiter’ out on the Nordschleife, that’s been installed seated in a BMW M3. What comes next is a 10min video of Farfus tackling the corners of the track at an extremely fast pace as he explains the course to Liri while she continuously screams at the top of her luncgs: ‘Ninho’ – Farfus’ nickname and profusely asking him to slow down. Thankfully, her reaction wasn’t as colourful as Ricardo Patrese’s wife (our favourite) nor Joao Barbosa’s screamer for a wife in comaprison.

In a situation like that, we’re pretty sure some of us would either lose our cool and exasperate the situation or perhaps face an extremely difficult time trying to concentrate at speeding around the course trying not to get too distracted from all that screaming. Either way, it’s quite likely we’ll be sleeping solo in the dog house come night-fall…for many nights.
