The original Shelby Cobra is a car of fantasy and fear. It has won great admirers and spawned many imitators. You can still find Cobra kit-cars on the market and Shelby’s own “continuation” cars. Not only that, the mighty Dodge Viper can trace its origins back to the Cobra, and so can many of the Shelby and Cobra Mustangs that have followed. Such is the legacy behind such a great car and here’s the modern interpretation.
The Cobra Venom V8 you see here is an animation, it doesn’t exist but you wish it did. Work of mechanical designer, Jamie Martin – the Cobra is theoretically powered by a 524hp supercharged Ford V8 and if it actually existed today, it would be well up there with the greats. But, we’re going to have to make do with this video, only for now hopefully.
