On Board With Bruno Senna: First Footage of The New Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi

A five-minute video of Bruno Senna lapping the all new Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. Some say it’s just going to be another glamour race but the new circuit is definately something different. It seems to be a race circuit out of a video game with it’s magnificent view and the uber cool pit lane exit. I can’t help but wonder if some driver could just end-up crash into the walls at the exit and if so, how hard would it be to extract the car? A crane will never fit in there. But it’s still a cool concept though.

the pit exit runs through a tunnel.

i think it's the 1st innovation for F1 circuit...

really nice try.. alot of tight conners.. would be awesome to watch Real F1 going around this track.

it looks really good, so many places to view the race too. it almost looks like a city built on the circuit.

Hard to memorise and confusing layout with lot of junctions.

But look super grand and the tunnel exit after pit suprised me.

the arabs now realize black gold money will sooner or later gone. thats why now we can see lots of other kind of investments. most of them are hospitalities/ tourism projects. this circuit is no exeption.

i can see a lot of modification can be done here. they can totally adjust the layout easily. but i can see trouble at the pitstop exit and with last's race accident (heikki ripped up the fuel nozzle causing kimi to be burnt for few seconds), FIA and circuit owner must find ways to avoid the same incident happen again.

there are already suggestions about banning refueling in F1 because almost every year we have heard of accidents involving ripping up the nozzle/ accidentally knocking the lollypop man/ etc etc. but i am pretty sure refueling will stay.

i would like to see more than 1 refuelling stations in the future if the law permits. just pitstops around the circuit. that way, the risk of accident to happen will be be kept minimum because drivers/ teams have more than one place to stop and refuel. thus reducing the pressure of drivers/ crews to compete in that one pitstop.

it also can further expand how teams/ drivers do their strategy. could be fun.
