S.Loeb Switching To F1 In 2010?

In the wake of his Red Bull test last month, Sebastien Loeb has admitted he would seriously consider an offer to switch to F1 in 2010.

The five-time rally champion, who is contracted to drive for Citroen in the WRC next year, impressed observers and experts alike when he was firmly on the pace of F1’s regular drivers during the recent Barcelona test.

“The team bosses think I am too old, but mentally I am not: age would not be an obstacle for me,” the 34-year-old told the French newspaper Liberation.

Loeb said: “With a testing programme in 2009, I would go to the Formula One grid in 2010.”

The winner of the last five world rally titles admitted disillusionment with the WRC, criticising the 2009 calendar, the evolution of the cars, and the regulations.

What is this fascination by Red Bull with drivers with Sebastian as their first name??!! Is is Mateschitz's personal fetish?

He's got Bourdais, Vettel, Buemi and now Loeb?

What do these for guys have in common?? SAME FIRST NAME!!! with minor spelling differences...

"admitted disillusionment with the WRC, criticising the 2009 calendar, the evolution of the cars, and the regulations."

What? Has he had a chat with people like Juan Pablo Montoya, or Jacques Villeneuve? F1 has quite a lot of politics and corporate responsibility going around the F1 paddock.

Personally I think F1 is not a good idea. Though I think he would do well, after all he did train as a gymnast and is now the most successful world rally champion. Proves that he can adapt quite well. But if he is disillusioned of rallying, then he is in danger of ruining his career if he enters F1.

One of my friends share a similar view on his blog. Check it out. Its quite well thought out and comprehensive.
