Reverse Parking = Saving Fuel

axio_reverse_1How good are you at reverse parking? If you are not, maybe it’ll be a good idea to start practicing now.

According to a new research, drivers can save up fuel simply by reversing into carpark spaces, instead of going into them front first.

New data from the IAM Motoring Trust shows that reversing out of a parking space when the car’s engine is cold uses around 20 to 25 times more petrol in the first few seconds than it does when warm.

The research claimed that it takes an average 5year-old car a minute and a half for the engine to warm up. It was concluded that the most efficient way to warm up the engine is by driving it.

Well, guess it’s time to polish up that skill and start teaching your other half to do so. Don’t be surprised if she then insist that you install reverse sensor and camera!

I don;t have a problem reverse parking. But sometimes the fella at my back too close to understand i want to go in. So it would take me more time to go in because he is blocking. Then i have to skip 1 side to let him pass and i gotta adjust my car again to park. Even slow in car park also want to tailgate!!
