In befitting the status as the biggest ever in its history, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) aims to make the 2008 Super GT International Series Malaysia as the best ever; securing no less than 65,000 spectators for the weekend.
Annnouncing this, SIC Chairman Datuk Mokhzani Tun Dr Mahathir said the event, which would be held from June 20 to 22 and would feature five top class support races, is an event not to be missed by any motor racing fan.
“The 2008 edition is perhaps the biggest ever as we are featuring five support races. The latest would be the Aston Martin Cup, which I personally believe would grow and become one of the major series in the region.”
The other four races to join the Aston Martin Cup as the support races are the Asian Supercar Championship, the Asian GT Challenge, the Asian Formula Renault and Formula V6 Asia, which Mokhzani said would be equally as thrilling.
The Super GT International Series is never complete without its legendary GT girls and the launch event featured just two of them out of the usual 100 over girls that grace the pit lane of the highly successful race series. Ayami and Kotomi, the official GT Queens for the 2008 Super GT International Series Malaysia, are the brand ambassadors and key promoters for the event and they would be leading the other GT Queens at the grid presentation on Race Day.
Catch the girls, the 44 race machines in both GT300 and GT500 class, and the action on 20 to 22 June at the Sepang International Circuit.
