linksys okay...but the blardy adapter keep on blowing....probably my house wiring laaa...

Is this due to some faulty house wiring or the problematic adapter?
If its the adapter at fault, did you submit for warranty claims?
I've a Linksys Wireless Access Point Router (BEFW11S4) for a few years and its been working fine!

Linksys rox.. wireless-G 2.4GHz Mbps
WRT54G

WRT54G... I'm using WRT54GS (ordered from US). Damn good router... plenty of hacked firmwares around to add more features like hotspot, QoS, firewall, bandwidth management and etc...

yup...i claim for warranty....but it blowed the second time again....this time i used different sockets...probably just my bad luck....

My Linksys BEFW11S4 AC Adaptor blew after 24 hrs... too lazy to claim for warranty. Bought a replacement from Tesco for RM 20. Works well. Now using the same AC Adapter for my WRT54GS (which came with 110V AC Adaptor).

is it linksys is used by CISCO rite?

anyway the linksys you guys using is made in china?......probly by foxconn..the world largest router oem manufacturer

All routers are made in China. Linksys or other brands just OEM from them. Only differences is the firmware.

In Linksys case, it is open source and many people added extra features into it.

Cool...thanks for the feedback guys! Btw, any idea how much it cost now?

every router is good actually....get linksys, dlink. But most importantly get those router`s which are compatible with your ISP (streamyx)

Thanks guys! Will get one asap and later ask more abt the configuration thingy.
thanks again!

I thought what router... Cisco 9xx series... best router.. haha.. can do BGP, NGN, STATIC, OSPF, NAT, VLAN, VOIP, etc etc etc etc...

For home user, a normal router will do... even if Cap X ones. But if u want technical support, get a branded router like Linksys for example. Prices damn cheap nowadays compared to my old RG-1000 bought for RM 900 used 4 years ago.
