For home user, a normal router will do... even if Cap X ones. But if u want technical support, get a branded router like Linksys for example. Prices damn cheap nowadays compared to my old RG-1000 bought for RM 900 used 4 years ago.

Should mentioned which type of router are you referring to lar.....very subjective to answer as you didn't mentioned whether are you interested in wireless router or not...summore didn't state if your usage and expectation? there is tons of different router available in the market to suite your needs but first you have to tell what are your needs before we can suggest mah.....

aztech admin page is very hard to navigate. 3com config tool is much easier to use

WRT54G... I'm using WRT54GS (ordered from US). Damn good router... plenty of hacked firmwares around to add more features like hotspot, QoS, firewall, bandwidth management and etc...
do they sell wrt54gs in msia? i want that coz i heard wrt54g is not very good for 802.11b

Since i'm in the computer industry, i would say D-link routers work quite well. So is linksys. But the old linksys router, where you need to use the CD to setup the dialler is such a mess to set up. I'm using DI524 with 600T modem. Last time i used a 604T and i sold it off. I think the guy is still using it. Zyxel modems are ok too. I never tried their routers. But i have installed a few Prestige 600 series without much problems.

Try to stay away from some of the lesser brands, is all i can say. There are just too many bad things to stumble into.
