Dear RX8ers.
Our Mega-Gathering for 2009 will be held on 13DEC09 (Sunday). We have planned a fun filled day for us all. I’m sure for those who joined us in 2008, we would still be able to remember that we achieved the largest (for it’s time) a 51 RX8’s photoshoot and convoy.
For 2009, we want to make it even bigger. We said we’ll be ambitious, and that’s what we’re out to achieve. Let’s make 2009 Mega-Gathering the largest ever and we aim to achieve 100 RX8’s.
This event will be covered by Video/ Photos and each member will be getting a CD after the event as a keepsake.

So to give you a sneak peek into what we would have in store on the day:
Itinery For the Day
1. Early morning - Meet up point (Sunway Pyramid)
2. Convoy - 100 cars to Photoshoot location (Putrajaya)
3. Photoshoot - Group and individual shots, models, magazine coverage, Competition for Best Bodykit/ Decals and Engine Bay
4. Lunch - Buffet lunch in Shangri-La Putrajaya
5. Dyno Challenge - End the day with a Dyno challenge in Sunway (For 20 cars only)
All Costs for the day should be financed up-front by each member of a sum RM 150 as participation fees and will include goodie bags, the Event CD, Lunch. Additional pax for lunch at RM 50. The Dyno challenge is a separate charge of approximately RM 50.
* Do note that prices are just an estimate for now. We’ll be able to confirm final prices soon.
Event Information
Meet Point
The meet point will most likely be at Sunway Pyramid. Time is tentatively 7.30am. The more punctual participants are, the earlier we can set off and have more time for the photoshoot
Convoy
The convoy to Putrajaya will be via MEX highway. We plan to have police escorts for this and there will be some members who will be appointed as Marshalls equipped with Walkie Talkies. Their role is similar to the police escorts, which is to ensure an orderly & safe convoy to our photoshoot location. Please read this Convoy Safety Tips before joining this event.
Photoshoot
The shoot will take at least 2 hours. With 100 cars, we hope to be able to position all cars in 30 mins with remaining time for individual and group shots with the cars. Models and Photographers will be paired and will cover the cars. Also up for grabs are prizes for:
Lunch
Right after the shoot, the convoy will adjourn to Shangri-La Putrajaya for lunch. It's a Buffet Lunch so bon apetite and eat your heart out!
Dyno Challenge
After lunch, we will proceed to back to Sunway JC Racing for the Dyno Challenge. The challenge is limited to the first 20 cars that registers for Dyno Challenge (option available when you register on the Online Registration Form). The price is RM 50 per car.
The Dyno Challenge will (subject to change) be broken into 4 categories. Each category there will be a require a minimum cars to be considered a participating category in this challenge.
1. 4AT (min 5 cars)
2. 6AT (min 5 cars)
2. 6MT (min 5 cars)
3. Force Induction - Turbo/ Supercharged (both 4AT/6AT/6MT) (min 3 cars as not many FI cars around)
There will be a prize for the highest Wheel Horse Power (WHP) recorded for each participating category of the day.

We will have the following competition categories to be won on the day of the Mega Gathering. So prepare your rides so that you can Flaunt your 8 on the day :)
* Judging will be conducted by the event sponsors. Also, committee members are not allowed to join the competition in view that we're the ones setting the criteria for the winners. Photos used to depict the categories are samples only.
Best Bodykit/ Decal Category- Prize sponsored by Raydiance and ProTuners
Champion will win a full car care session from Raydiance, a magazine page feature by the New Car Mag in town; Pro Tuners, and Free 6 month subscription of ProTuners plus the bragging rights for being the champion of this category
