Most of trek owners with mods have Evo cams. But anyone here uses pon-cams? 265? 270? 272? I was told that with just basic Evo mods (TD05, FMIC, bigger injectors etc), adding pon-cams can kick the power up to 290whp in our sluggish INVECS II autobox.

I tried looking for cams, and it's really not easy especially 265s. Most available are 272 which I think it's too high for me. Bad for idling + autobox + KL traffic jams. Let's share....

Stock Evo cam profiles below.

I really don't like rough idling... it worries me that car will stall during hot afternoon traffic jams.

its not like the car easily stall during idling.. normally mild 260deg to 270deg can still get stable idling.. they use adjustable pulley to advance or retard to get best powerband range. that is where the idling get rough.. thats is what i know.. correct me if im wrong.

I see... I do not have much knowledge about highcams + advance timing, so I thought anything above 265 will have rough idling.

with help of proper cam pulley adjusting and piggyback tuning.... anything lower than 270deg cam still able to get smooth idling... (not that perfectly smooth but atleast it wouldnt jump around like an hyperactive puppy)

yep..especially when we play the cam overlapping duration...

big overlap = tendency to jumpy/lumpy idle....because of dynamic flow between intake and exhaust has changed...

its just with performance cam this can't be avoided due to bigger valve opening duration that leads more overlapping duration between intake and exhaust....

oh yea.. bro kaninbu is right.. for 270deg above, idling is rough if u set the idle around 1k rpm.. if u want it to be stable, set it above 1k rpm maybe around 2k rpm..

Has anyone been using non-stock non-Evo cams in their Airtrek. How does it matches our slow-box? Comments?

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve an irritating rattle I have at my Satria Neo's lower dashboard area? Its located at the lower half of the dashboard immediately to the right of the ignition slot. Seem like there is a metal component immediately behind the plastic & it rattles like hell non-stop. My car is only 2 mths old!!! I have tried using heavy duty scotch tape but the rattle is still there. I am at a loss, PE says they have to dismantle the whole dash to solve it!
