hi everyone.

basically, this is my current setup.

Front : 5" Jbl Mid Speaker
Focal dunno what model Tweeter ( My jbl tweeter dead already)
Passive JBL GTO crossover

ICE stereo amp 800 w (yeah rite)

Rear : 3 Way Alpine speaker
ICE Stereo amp 800 w

Ice Stereo Pre amp and cheap cables.


I know my current setup is kinda sucks but this is due to recommendation from the accessories shop. And now i want to upgrade the system. I've been using this setup for 4 years and i think i want to upgrade as i only interested with SQ not SPL booom boom bang. Now, its time for me to switch from noob setup into pro setup.

I listen more into rock and jazz music and sometime listen to hip hop. i dont want get cheated form the regular accesories shop saying that, " aiyo speaker besar.. power besar.. mesti bagus la". i dont want to hear that crap anymore and endup crap setup which does not satisfy me.

i know, more money invest in ice, the good setup u get. but at least i have a good guide from u guys to advise me what shall i do and donts.

I think the best you can do now is to attend more TTs and listen to different set ups until you find what suits you best.
Along the way, learn more and also brush up your listening skills.
Be patient and take your time.
Hasty decision will end up wasting more money.

a good and simple SQ system u only need 5 things:

1) HU
2) 4ch amp
3) front components
4) single sub
5) cables & wires

what i recommend for beginners or for low budgets is to find 2nd hand branded goods, just have to be patient and do some research. like pisces says, join the TTs, read up the other local forums (gr8tunes.net, mycarhifi.com, icehifi.com) and learn more on SQ systems, u will get your system up and running soon.
