Lotus has revealed two new Evora's for this year's Paris Motor Show following an accidental leak just about a week ago. The Evora S and IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift or "automatic transmission") will officially be a part of the Evora range after the official unveiling in Paris.
The Evora S is a more hardcore version of the Evora and has had its Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter V6 tuned to produce a further 69hp and 37lb-ft of torque over the standard car. It's official figures now stand at 345hp and 295lb-ft of torque. The sprint to 100km/h happens in just under five seconds and the new S tops out at 276km/h.
The new Evora S also features a sport button that allows the driver to control the throttle response and activate an exhaust bypass valve as standard, this feature is offered as an option for the standard Evora. The sports button also increases the rev limiter and changes the stability control settings, for what other reason than more spirited driving of course.
The Evora IPS however, sits on the tamer side of the fence. Its new six-speed automatic transmission offers both fully automatic transmission and manual shift modes. In manual, shifts are done via paddle shifters to control gear selection, and when in auto, buttons placed on the center console switch between the standard PRND drive modes. Power remains unchanged from the standard Evora and the auto gearbox doesn't add any more weight to the car.
Besides that, not much else was revealed about the two upcoming Lotus models. Expect more details and pictures when we get closer to the show.
