The weekend is nigh and that means the 2010 Formula One Singtel Singapore GP is almost upon us with more night excitement from the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

This time around, the race promoters have made several updates to the track that should see things flowing more smoothly. Resurfacing has seen the bumpiness reduced between Turns 3 and 7 as well as Turns 14 and 19.

Moreover, the pit lane has been lowered by 1cm and resurfaced to smoothen the transition for the cars rejoining the race.

Safety has also been tightened with Turn 10, known as the Singapore Sling, having its kerbs adjusted to a more gradual curve for a smoother and safer exit for the drivers.

Of course, the excitement off the track could rival the action on it with what is possibly the largest outdoor entertainment event on Singapore’s social calendar.

With 10 stages on the circuit, there will be more entertainment than your sensors can keep up with. One stage will have Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Adam Lambert and Daughtry headlining over the entire race weekend.

If you’re planning to catch the race this weekend, be sure to do it from the Shell Helix Ferrari Adventure Street Carnival at Bangsar. There will be games, booths, special appearances by Hitz Radio DJ’s JJ and Ean, dance performances and of course a live viewing of the Singapore GP from 8om onwards.

The carnival will be held at Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru from 9.30am right up to 10pm. So make sure you stop by to catch the race there and stand the chance to win some attractive prizes too.
