Help me on AE 101 cannot start

tai kor here pls help me

my friend's AE 101 when morning or coold weather cannot start!!!

damn initially a forman come over and check the battery (in good condition) then he try to ketuk the starter and finally it start!!(damn happy)

then go back to workshop and used meter to check the alternator (also in good condition)

then he say is starter problem and then change a starter at RM 220 (include labour - half cut condition)

then we very hapy and when back

when night wanna go out the car cannot start again until now then i try to used jumping cable to start the car (also cannot start)

is it possible of the starter cable problem??? starter relay???
cable problem??

i stay in cheras pandan indah area any good wire man to introduce???

does the starter make a sound like normal but do not start?
does the starter make a sound like loose one like 'zzzzeeeeeeeeee' ?
the starter does not function at all (wire/damage)?

the starter does not make any sound at all!!!!!
no zzzzzeeeeeeee sound also

starter already change
after change it preform well (we try many times at that shop)

but when park the car until the engine cool down then again cannot start damn.......really donnot wat happen

morning can't start...can't start with cranking sound or no cranking sound...?

turn key to on and then turn to start
no sound at all!!

i) check ur battery...
ii) check ur battery connection...(battery pole)...

from my experience, if there is no sound at all, the possibilities are:
1. Your battery is out. Maybe old oledi. If you have a voltmeter then u can check this. You can also look at your in-car light go dim if volt low.
2. Wiring problems.

I suspect it is electrical since u have already change ur starter.

This problem also happen to me b4 CNY. My machenic said battery OK then ask me to change the starter. So. I beli starter toyota s/charger from ZTH member (Eric if I not mistaken) then baru OK........but....after balik kg..still problem again..then I bengang I change the new Battery (dry cell) until now still OK. So the main problem is battery..2 years tak tukar..thats why it happen. So, I advice you to change to the new battery. Solve problem.

Yup, mayb the battery cell oledi weak..... I think better change the battery b4 check with the wireman..... coz now day maintance free battery is cheaper then b4.....

check the fuis maybe fuis putus or battery connector to the main cable loose.

forman come again
he direct used the battery to start the car and by pass the switch
and the car can start imediatelly
and take the car back to workshop to check some wiring problem and found out that the old alarm cable were still incontect with the wire (i also donno how he know that is the old alarm cable lah)

then after taken out the old alarm part then the car can start any time i turn the switch

then we take back the car and go home!


and now the car is under observation
until night time i will try to start it again see whether it can start or still cannot start lah


damn..............never buy any second hand 10 ++ Years car again

but luckly the car is not mine (is my friend punya)

Good to hear that u alreadi solve the problem. Buy old car cheaper mah... hehehe but hv to prepare for unforseen breakdown....

i wander how the old cable can affected the starting???
power all pull by the alarm cable then no electric for the starter????

Feilo... electric box wanna check use two screwdriver and play sparkling bunga api can test ma.. ^_^

but I think ur case maybe becoz of the wire own by the last owner already kaput... or the wire all there was a mess.. or probably... I am not sure of this...maybe later get shoot by other too.. but what I heard from my dad.. the size of the "Cable holder" with a screw to connect all ur big cables towards the 2 battery (the "+" & "-") head is too small... or dirty.. it will somehow cut down the electric supplies towards ur starter...because when u start ur car.. it require quite a lot of electric power de..

and btw, if ur battery box is already starting to reput.. I think they will have a sign of those white or blueish powder surrounding ur battery box cable head de...

Hope this help le.. coz my KE20 use to be in this problems.. make me feedup.. and I somehow always report to my dad this and that.. then one day he also feedup and he change everything into big big size... hahhaa!! so no need to tekan minyak.. one click and will start.. :D

and btw.. 10 yrs car.. not all is in that condition la.. ^_^ bring some friends who know how to check car de ma..or buy from a friend who u can trust de... it really helps ones coz once u buy it...I do believe that u fren will be facing that car for minimal 4 yrs to 6 yrs... so if u buy one wrong car.. :S iskhh!~~ can't even think of it already de..

i ask him to prepare RM 300 for each repair (3months once) loh

hopefully tonight the car can start lah

If RM300... wei.. guys.. won't it be better if we introduce him to some specialist wiremen?... my car when I bought back where converted to White top engine de.. so all wiring is like a mess.. and I manage to rewired all inside my car ones ... not the engine r.. means from front till back light covering area... around rm ...how much r.. err.. 200 r? forgotten.. location is at Jln Ipoh... and I am very familiar with this guy de.. coz if he count me expensive, I can just call up my other mechanic fren and he will come and cucuk cucuk my that wiremen fren already..hahah!!

but u really should bring ur fren out.. then as other sifu to have a look la.. ^_^ rm300 just to fix something which is like keep on guessing and guessing is kindya too much for me.. every solution has a cheaper way de.. unless hahha!! soem special stories la..

btw badguy,

thing which usually comes to service if u buy a new 2nd hand car... ^_^ haha!! easy la.. come come.. here is the details..

- Brake pad (sure habis ones already)
- engine oil, gear oil
- timing belt
- spark-plug..(depends la..)
- tyre... (do believe they use till finsih all flower ones)
- absorber..(use ur weight to press the car.. if it jump or bounce like Beyonce butt..then hahaha!! happy la.. means need to change already)
- wheel bearing...(if u drive the time hear some ngonongg...nongggoon sound..means the bearing already no more lubricants.. can still go de.. but then dun drive until explode la)..
- lastly, the drive shaft r.. very easy to check de la.. if u belok time..can hear....Trakk!!trakkkk!!ketrarrakakrkark!! sound.. then means time up already...*
