Gearbox? Is it available for 4WD only?

Hi all,
I have a question and blur with it. Is that all 4G93/4G93T are coming with 4WD gearbox? Even 4G93T with INVECS II gearbox is 4WD gearbox as well...:confused_smile:

Another question,
For my case, my car is transplanted 4G61T. Gearbox is 4WD. Possible for me to get other option of 2WD gearbox? As I know 4G61 is having 2WD gearbox too, but it is really hard to find...:sad_smile:

u get a 4wd box , bt its for sure 100% locket to a 2wd gearbox
so y do u still need a 2wd gearbox ? errr blur

Because obviously we cannot simply install 4WD system just like that, also it is cheaper to run a 2WD one, more worth it.

Or u can opt for rebuild the gearbox by removing all the 4WD components. Lighter and less problem later. 4WD gearbox are heavy. Some weight as much as 60kg! Trimming down the 4WD components will save 20kg at least.

YEAH.....further more, 4WD will make ur tyreswear out quite fast.....all 4 at the same time...

compare with 2WD, front 2 tyres wear out 1st, follow by the rear 1....

Do you know any specialist that can do rebuild job? Any available shop in penang as well? What is the costs of rebuild compares to buying a 2WD gearbox? Last time heard about changing bearing only already costs about 400+...

For manual, no idea. For auto, there is one fella in Bt Caves. I'm rebuilding my old auto gearbox there. Cost is around RM 5k. Once done, it should withstand 500hp.

Well, why not? I'm keeping the car for life anyway.

Pls remember, performance doesn't come cheap. Make one mistake and it will cost u a lot.

Plan to change my 4WD gearbox to 2WD gearbox.
Is 4G92 gearbox is advisable? Heard that a lot of people claims that this gearbox ratio is close. Is it true?

Any comment about putting 4G15 gearbox and cope with 4G61T engine? That 4G15 gearbox can last for long?
