Whatdamn,

Saw your website. really impresive effort put in so far. Keep up the good work. I bet your energy put in is well worth it at the end of the restoration.

I'm interested seeing the real process of your repair/resto work. Actually, I'm doing one car myself. Maybe we can come out tt sometime?? pm me if you are keen...we can motivate each other, maybe helping each other too........haha

or share buying tools etc...just a thought la..

narx,
thanks man :)

ken yeang,
thanks for the support. right now kinda tied up with setting up the putra for this year's autocross/time attack so maybe come march only i'll be able to get some proper tools, unless i've got cash left over.

btw, what car are you working on again?

and if you wanna meet up, no prob. i'm staying around len sen, cheras. you?

damn cool what ur doing to ur MK3
first time i ever saw one was when it drove up beside me, and i thought it was some kinda imported Ford muscle car frm Oz
u could try contacting the guys at AMC cos they too do restoration
http://www.amcmotorsasia.com/

good luck in what you're doing, at least its something worthwhile and not time or life wasting in whatever way u see it :_:

ecstacyelmo,
haha thanks man. an even BIGGER THANKS for pointing out AMC. ah..can finally lookup guys who've done classic restoration. hopefully their price will match my wallet.

I know where but don't know the exact address though. His price is rather pricy but his workmanship is known to be top notch. Ever heard SRF? The mech is Saidi the name.

I could pass you his number though but he's been so swamped with projects after projects after projects; even I'm waiting in line for him to help me weld my projects.

I dare not say my projects for those who know me, I'm embarass to state the truth here ...

Hey, I want to join the TT too ... distance is no problem for me since on a daily basis I travel no less than 120 km a day ... sigh

Oh yeah I forgot to say, I salute you for all the effort in research, physical work and euthisiasm including dedication to the work.

I've learned alot and wanting to learn more from yourself to this built up. Hope you don't mind, perhaps I'd actually message you to help in certain areas that I need too.

Would definitely be an honour when I have a chance to go crusing with ya on a weekend ...

hey all.

just wanna let you guys know that the project is still moving along. not much hiccups so far. but welding work should take till the end of the month to complete.

Hoping the best from your cortina mk3! Mine are going for a new paint job and some minor welding's right now! If my father can keep the car wellkept for 36years, why can't everyone! Viva La Cortina! all the best bro!

hassan,
what colour is your tina? anyway, i plan to get 7" rims then go with spacers to widen the track.

may i ask what rims are you using and if you did any spacers to change the pcd from 108 to 100 or 114.3.

not many tinas around in the first place. :P

m1adam,
well, aside from the insane road tax i will have to pay, and the petrol consumption not to mention the tedious ammounts of strengthening to an already old and rusted chassis, i just don't think it's feasible. to bring in a ford v8 crate engine would cost a few thousand RM. and the crate engines themselves start at around USD3000 for a rebuilt one.

She's black...my tina is wearing a 16' prestige by rays engineering... 2 piece... 8inch wide... both front and rear... Before this she was wearing a 17' volk racing group c... front is 8.5 rear is 9.5... but I've to widen the body... that's I've change to 16X8 and i didnt make any spacer, cause I've mod my original 108 knucle and drum to 114.3.. just send it to the engineering... now, my tina is at my dad's friend shop in Johor Jaya, JB... stripping all the chassis... doing a 100% bush and mounting replacement and to seal all leaking places... Im getting trouble of finding my stabilizer bush... damn hard.... got all the bushes and mountings brand new and original from KL... got about 44 bush including mountings around rm1.3k, all of them all surely original... my dad's friends buy it for us... and Im goin' to use my 4throttle back... missing it too much! hehehehe... how's your build? hope everythings goes well.... Good luck! glad to meet a tina's owner! check on my myspace... for my view of car, and my friends car... myspace.com/big_hans

take care aite!~

=D
