With a title like 'Drive Angry' it was going to take some very special cars to liven up things at the premiere of the movie that was to be held in Penang and some very fine exotica were on hand to make the drive up for the movie's premiere.

Drive Angry is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and has action star Nicholas Cage, William Fichtner and the sultry Amber Heard among its cast. It tells the story of Milton (Cage), a felon banished to the depths of hell that breaks out to avenge the cult that murdered his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter to be sacrificed.

He is joined by Piper (Heard), a young waitress that helps him on his quest with her '69 Dodge Charger, a perfect complement to Milton's turbocharged '71 Dodge Challenger. They set out to search for the cult as Satan's right-hand man, The Accountant (Fichtner), and the police are hot on their trail.

Though the movie itself isn't very car-based, there are some nice American muscle examples that are highlighted during the course of the movie such as a Chevrolet Chevelle, apart from the Charger and Challenger.

The plan for the premiere was for a bunch of supercars from Kuala Lumpur to convoy to Penang where they would be on display to promote the movie. Zerotohundred.com were among the parties involved in getting the whole thing up and going, organising the whole drive up to Penang. Nef Movies, as the distributor, were heavily involved as well with the entire event offering the group with a cinematic experience in an exclusive private viewing theater.

The Time To Attack Finale Movie on the Big Screen!

The cars that joined the convoy were from the Blue Jackets driver's club and it was a blend of Ferraris and Porsches. Though it was mostly Ferrari F430s, the highlight was the latest from Maranello's stables, the 458 Italia. Zuffenhausen were not to be outdone and were well represented with a number of 911 Turbos, a Cayman S and a GT3 RS that belonged to club president Erwin Azizi.

The day started with the cars grouping up at the Sungai Buloh rest stop area on the North-South Highway where the cars were draped in the movie's promo livery for the drive up. Following that, it was a loose convoy with a couple of stops in between all the way to Penang before making the trip across the bridge to First Avenue mall, which were kind enough to allow the cars to be placed outside the entrance for display.

TGV Cinemas was the venue for the screening and after enjoying the movie, the convoy rocked on towards the Hard Rock Hotel Penang that provided accommodation for the party that night. Throughout the day, the supercars were attracting attention like men to porn everywhere they went.

On the whole, the entire event was a great success with the supercars being a good platform to promote the movie and Zerotohundred.com is glad to have been involved in getting the cars for the drive.

Be sure to check out the movie at your nearest cinema as it's already showing and don't forget to watch it in 3D as some of the key scenes are very focused on 3D special effects and would leave you on the edge of your seat.

G1M Plates - RM1m for 1 Malaysia number plates - The Malaysian Insider

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Gagasan 1 Malaysia (1 Malaysia concept) number plates are being offered to help raise money for the seven continents exploration club (KE7B), with crown jewel — G1M1 — going for at least RM1 million

“Bidding is still open,” said the club president Muhammad Muqharabbin Mokhtaruddin.

Bidding for the G1M1 plate is scheduled to end this Friday, but will be extended if the club fails to find a buyer by then.

“We will reopen the offer after September 25,” he told The Malaysian Insider.

KE7B explained that the winner of the bid would also automatically become the inter-continental expedition’s title sponsor.

“The highest bidder would be given the status main expedition sponsor,” said Muhammad Muqharabbin.

So far there has been no offer for G1M1, according to Muhammad Muqharabbin, but the club has been getting encouraging response for other numbers under the G1M series.

“Since we took over, sales have been encouraging. We are getting response from every race, Malays, Indians and Chinese and we still have 1,200 numbers,” he said adding that the club expects to raise about RM3 million from the sales.

The club offering registration numbers ranging from G1M1 to G1M2000.

As of Monday, Muhammad Muqharabbin said they have sold 800 numbers worth RM1 million.

“For the past three days, we have received 800 calls after we took over the sales late last month,” he said.

Bidding was opened last June after the launch by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Those interested may call 012-6475472 (Hassan), 012-2585159 (Khairil Hafidz) or visit the website at platg1m.blogspot.com.

Bidding for the numbers G1M2 to G1M10 ranges from RM75,000 to RM250,000, while G1M numbers can be purchased from between RM1,500 and RM25,000.

“Those who buy the numbers can register by the end of the year, and they can be used in perpetuity,” said Muqharabbin.

Muhammad Muqharabbin said part of the proceeds from the sales would also be channelled to National Athletes Welfare Foundation, Malaysian Children’s Hope Foundation and the Poverty Eradication Foundation.

The rest of the money, he said, would be used to finance the club’s expedition.

Responding to queries, Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan said the independent auction of the registration number by KE7B was according to procedure.

“There were already vehicles registered under the number, they were sold by a third party (KE7B) but we only manage registration matters like how we handle registration of vehicles using special plates,” he said.
