My Wira A/B SE downgraded from the 16" JRD rims to ultra lightweight Advanti Storm 15" rims. The performance gains was so significant it was mindblowing. Mind you - mine's an auto so I could instantly feel the better acceleration, better stopping and generally easy go-faster feeling.

Your Aveo 1.5 is similar in capacity with my car so I suspect you'll feel a huge difference going from 17" to anything smaller. If you're concerned about looks, consider the Advanti lightweight series 16" rims. Reducing the unsprung weight will make a difference too in performance.

Probably only 185/60/R14?? Using 16" and 17", the common size is 205. 16" will be 205/45 and 17", your 205/40. The width and friction also drag down the car coupled with the larger tyre diameter.

Can why not? I using 195/40 on 7jj rim.. previously using 165/45/16 Nankang NS2.. super stretch..hehe.. drive up to 150km/h no prob.. just that change to 195/40/16 Toyo T1R feel the grip is better and also softer.. the sound also not that loud.. but tyre wear very fast! :banghead:

Can ask around, but this size maybe got to order as have not seen in any shops. But Toyo prices have gone up a lot.
Cannot compare Nankang to Toyo, a lot of difference. Toyo UHP sure to wear fast.

For Toyo tyres can try this shop. I bought mine from there last time. Ask for Richie....

Good grip mah! Fast wear also depends on your usage?
Some people don't travel much but wants a durable tyre for what? After 4 years harden already, also have to change even though still got plenty of thread pattern balance......

Bro i wear quite fast because i often drive at 120~140km/h on highway and often travels from JB to Batu Pahat.. thru and flow already 300km+-.. but it's a good tyre i must say... if not with that tyre that time, i already kiss the ass of one car during raining.. i jam the brake and the tyre skidded but luckily just a small distance before can get control and avoid the car in front.

*FYI i already change the brake to RVR single pot caliper & disc.. it's much much bigger than any of those in the 1.5cc car.. because it's 2.0cc turbo car using de..so conclusion, money vs safety, i recommend that tyre.. but for bigger size den i can't afford la.. that's y my perdana i using Nankang NS2 only.. coz my size will cost RM1.6k like that.. and i seldom drive that car..:burnout:

Ya and also bigger & heavier rims also will wear faster.. i have 2 frens using this TOYO T1R, one on 18" one on 20" both only lasted about 1 yr den the need to change already.. so i think 16" still consider ok la.. just find a lightweight rim will do..
